THANK YOU!! kinda proves my point.Squarez said:Fix'd.Omikron009 said:The people who hate it because it's a sport games are boring and unfun.
It's a fun game to play with your friends. You wouldn't play Left 4 Dead on your own. I feel that Madden is essentially a game to bust out when friends are over or to play online. Then, if the want takes you, you can play a fully fleshed out single player game, something Left 4 Dead didn't have. Yet nerds like us always seem to gush over Valve's zombie-'em-up and hate EA's football-'em-up. Just because 'it's a sports game'.
that is what games are suppossed to do however ea doesnt add enough is what you mean.Omikron009 said:People hate it because sports games are boring and unfun, and EA releases what's essentially the same game with minor additions and tweaks every year.
Whoa whoa whoa! Hang on a minute... What about Baseball?Dys said:American football is quite possibly the least entertaining thing I've ever had the displeasure of watching....Having the same boring sport simulated in an annual release, all of which are largely the same, is bland.
whats all this with search bars, is a thing im apparently not nerdy enough to understandSouplex said:Because EA refuses to use the search bar.

Still not the best viewing experience, but it's less stop-start and is much simpler, therefore easier to watch. American football looks like an overcomplicated, slowed down version of rugby, Baseball doesn't look like an inferior version of a foreign game so I don't sit there thinking "why would anyone bother with this over cricket" or whatever.Just_A_Glitch said:Whoa whoa whoa! Oh, come on. The ads during the superbowl are the best we see (in the US of A) all damn year. They're a big part of why I even watch.YouCallMeNighthawk said:I love watching NFL on tv especially the superbowls (when it isn't interrupted by adverts every play!!!!)
But when it comes to the games i don't enjoy playing them, no particular reason just can't get into them which saddens me because i bet they are alot of fun.
Pfff. Most of the US says the exact same thing about what we call soccer and the rest of the world calls football. Given the choice, I would much rather watch Americanischefußball than Fußball. On TV, the former looks rather like some sort of ancient military exercise (imagination required), while the latter looks too much like a bunch of marbles rolling about in a bowl.Dys said:American football is quite possibly the least entertaining thing I've ever had the displeasure of watching....Having the same boring sport simulated in an annual release, all of which are largely the same, is bland.
To each his own, I guess. I've never been more bored than the day that my father took to out to the ballgame, whereas the football game we went to is still one of the highlights of my life.Dys said:Still not the best viewing experience, but it's less stop-start and is much simpler, therefore easier to watch. I generally agree with the fact that sports games aren't usually fun.SL33TBL1ND said:Pretty much this, but also, if you want to play sports, you should play sports.Omikron009 said:People hate it because sports games are boring and unfun, and EA releases what's essentially the same game with minor additions and tweaks every year.
I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean. Games are supposed to only add on minor additions and tweaks? First of all, a lot of people like original games like, say, Psychonauts. (Just an example.) Psychonauts, while it may have taken some pointers from other games and movies, it didn't add minor tweaks and changes to something that already existed. The art was not from a previous game, nor was the soundtrack, cast of characters, or exact method of playing and combat.lokun489 said:that is what games are suppossed to do however ea doesnt add enough is what you mean.Omikron009 said:People hate it because sports games are boring and unfun, and EA releases what's essentially the same game with minor additions and tweaks every year.
lol yeah the ads are awesome (mostly) but it does grate when they are on every 0.2 secondsSpekter068 said:Oh, come on. The ads during the superbowl are the best we see (in the US of A) all damn year. To me, watching football is something I would like to do in a group, or with someone like my one-hundred-year-old granddad (the last game he watched made him throw his cane at the TV in frustration- hilarious). Gaming is something I do alone, because having to tell a mob of advice-spewing friends to fuck off is rather distracting. The Madden series just takes the worst of both worlds and glues them together.

However, I prefer playing soccer because the cuts in the action are few and far between, and also because I've been on the bottom of a football pigpile more than once, and I nearly suffocated. The worst thing that's going to happen to you in soccer is getting kicked in the shins- much more refined.
