It's stupid. Everyone who calls people noobs were probably a noob at some point, and maybe even a noob in another game.

realy i see no reason to hate the players who have just started playing i dont get it.....
It's not the player starting, and it's not all of them,
but there are noobs and there a NOOBS,
1st one is the chillax guy that just asks a few questions, and says "sorry for being a noob"
and then there was the NOOB! which is always asking for help, is annoying, doesnt listen, etc.. etc..!

Lets see... I don't mind Newbies most of the time, as they are usually eager to learn.
It is even sometimes enjoyable to teach them.

Noobs/N00bs/Nubs/Scrubs/Failtards/etc all deserve any pain humiliation that falls upon them.
They (almost always) suck harder than a vacuum in the hands of a *cough*titute, they never take constructive criticism or do they ever listen to what others say, even when the other party is right (And they almost always are). They are also always irritating to no end.

Also, while the former can also be the latter, it is quite uncommon.

What we have is a term misunderstanding.
I always figured it like this:
n00b: An annoying person within a game.
Newb (Or Newbie): Someone new to a game.

n00bs are bad.
Newbs are fine.

That's the way I always thought it was, anyways.
Yep. That's how I was taught. I've had a lot of people help me along with new games, and for the most part, I've repaid those debts eventually later in the game (still have some to repay). However, I've also seen some moments where the "n00bs" got in the way of that, and I'm sure I've been branded one behind my back a time or two. I'm willing to help those that genuinely want help, but if they're just doing that to be annoying, I'd consider them lucky to not be in a PvP/PK area.
