I am with this guy he is pretty much spot on.Bek359 said:Have you been on the Internet? Like, at all? A substantial number of people think he's just an angsty bastard who set the standard for mopey, whiny heroes in the FF series. Or maybe that's just me.

Your argument is invalid.
Thank you for saying that about my favorite charecterDr. Danger said:I can't stand Cloud. But then, I don't care for Final Fantasy VII at all. It's the weakest of the bunch, but I've only played VII - XII.
As far as protaganists go, Zidane Tribal was possibly the most relatable and had much more depth.
It clearly isn't stated in a way that says everyone else should defend why they do like him but rather that he was asking for reasons to like him. Opinions can be swayed once they are presented with a solid argument.Twilight_guy said:So, because you don't like you feel the need to have everyone else defend why they do like him... I hope you see how silly your thread is now.
As for me, I never played many FF games but generally people like the characters because they are there avatar for an entire game. In addition, JRPG protagonist are different from Western protagonist so people put off by more local games may like them. Once again, I can't say anything about specific FF stuff but I do know that I like a protagonist who can show more mention then joy at killing something and will actually cry if the situation calls for it.
