Obvious hipster troll is obviously a hipster troll. Uncharted isn't any good? Every well reviewed critic disagrees. Most every action adventure fan disagrees. Nolan North disagress. And most importantly, Han Solo and Malcom Reynolds disagree. Both LOVE the entire series. I'll take Harrison Ford's opinion on what makes a great action adventure over yours.

I'm only about an hour into the third game but so far I'm not enjoying it as much as the second. It feels like after the first game had too many gunfights they sorted the pacing in the sequel but now Drake's Deception is just interactive cinematics.
I'm still enjoying it though because the story is fun and I like the characters. Neither aspect is genre-defining but nor is it mediocre as some have suggested. The real problem is that people seem to misunderstand what constitutes a 'perfect game'.
A perfect game doesn't mean you need to shut down the industry because none will ever surpass, it just means that this particular game hits all it's marks, and the only game I've ever played which felt like that was God of War II. For the most part I'd give Uncharted 2 a solid 10/10 as well, there were just some parts that dragged on a bit.
At the end of the day though, it wouldn't be popular if people didn't enjoy it, so why get upset just because you didn't?

Second, Harrison Ford?? Because Uncharted is Indiana Jones of video games?? are you sure he didnt say it was good on purpose so people would play it and get disappointed and proclaim "Only Harrison Ford is the True Indy" in a Springtime for Hitler sort of way so people buy more Indy movies and remember that Harrison had, you know, a career once and boost his ego?
So reviews could be fake and Harrison isnt trustworthy so i can only trust Malcom Reynolds.....if only i knew who Reynolds is.

But i find hard to believe that maybe if you look hard enough you could find a game that has none of the flaws and better in everything else but people are too lazy to give a crap about looking for things that, you know, may actually be better.kortin said:

Then comes today, "filmmakers" Seltzer and Friedberg make Disaster Movie and Meet The Spartans and somehow managed to make millons out of what you can barely call movies.

So its obvious that associating something as "popular" means that this word "Dumbed the fuck down" always comes to mind and with videogames the situation is even worse.
Uncharted may be a good series but in the grand scale it doesnt give anything new. It could, however, open the world to a bunch of new people to gaming but if Uncharted success becomes too munch to understand what makes it great then when the inevitable clones comes it would only make games in general look the same to anyone else that ISNT smart enough to research.
Sort of like "Seinfield is Unfunny" Uncharted will look like crap when the so called "clones" fail to give whatever makes Uncharted great and will mark the industry as lazy
I dont hate the game but i wouldnt call it good either. I just kneel to the truth and i dont want to find out that this series is the best ever when its already too late, we have to have a clear mind in WHAT makes Uncharted series good over other games and over itself, as in, what is so great a bout U3 that U2 and U1 doesnt

I adore Uncharted 2. In terms of spectacular moments, pacing, diverse gameplay, storytelling and visuals it is brilliant. That being said, I enjoyed Uncharted 3 a lot less. The story was weak and the spectacle lacking.

People banned together when the signature petition to stop Uwe Boll from making ANY movie was made, people proclamed together that Dark Souls deserves a PC port and now people gave money to Tim Schafer because he is awesome at making games, so why cant we do something like this??

I actually just posted about this being a series of games that I find overrated. It's nothing to get too worked up about, people like it because they like it.
I'm more upset that there are people who like Nickelback than I am about people who like Uncharted (I'm really not. I hate their music but I'm not gonna bash anyone who likes it). Hell my brother is a HUGE Uncharted fan. But ultimately it just comes down to different tastes man.

Personally, I don't like the Uncharted series. Well, I suppose I shouldn't say that because I've only played Uncharted 2, and I didn't even finish it. However, from what I played I didn't feel any desire to beat the game, or to spend my time and money on the other two games of the series. Part of it is that I don't like third person shooters in general, but there's more to it than that. Whenever I played Uncharted 2 I couldn't shake the feeling that I was playing some Hollywood blockbuster movie, not an interactive game. I suppose parts of it were fun, but that feeling ruined the experience for me.

I think Uncharted is slightly over-hyped. They are great games but have a very short life span and little replay value. The game gives plenty of incentive to revisit if you're an achievement hog, but for those of us who are not the games are short.
As a series I often hear it as a reason to go out and buy a PS3. I wouldn't go that far...but I would highly recommend the games once they price drop.
Personally, if I were to recommend a game series worthy of getting a PS3, I'd go with inFamous.
