((For those who have yet to see Game Dogs ? its a cartooned (yes cartooned!) show about a few dogs struggling with game coding, deadlines and evil bosses. Really alot of fun))

Ive seen alot of threads about Game Dogs lately. Mostly in the featured content section in which every thread is packed with posts. And just about every single episode has been followed by circa 100? to 200 comments. You?d think this reaction would be positive but it really isn?t.

I see nothing but criticism. Okay that?s not true. Id say about 82.5 percent of all comments contain criticism (solely) and that?s still quite a lot. ( - The rest of the comments being conservative cartoon-lovers/furries desperately trying to show some appreciation in an ocean of abhorrence. I think its great! Im among them. )

SO? that brings me to my question. Whats up with this straight-out hate? When I see a crappy episode I just skip to another video. Or close the tap. I don?t post any comment seeing as a boring, unappealing series isn?t worth my attention in the first place.

A lot of you do the exact opposite. You sit down and write a long, semi-provoking comment with criticism directly aimed at the producers. And you return, many of you return, to post new comments on the next episodes of the same series. Is Game Dogs really that hard to ignore? Seriously whats up with this? How this particular series manage to generate so much hatred and steal so much attention is beyond me.

Is it because they are dogs?

Is it?

Me myself I love the series. Definitely hope they will continue with the episodes. All the characters are believable every-day kinda characters. - Personalities that you get to know and remember from real life. Roger could be a friend of mine. I think there is a Chet in every school class. And Bob is just freakin hilarious.

People are asked to comment on the video they just watched. The whole "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" adage doesn't stand.

People are going to comment about the video given the option and overwhelmingly the response to the show has been somewhat negative. I for one am glad they have the option to respond, as game dogs might just turn out the same way Apocalypse Lane did, not so great starting out, but turn into an enjoyable series.

Being dogs has nothing to do with it for me.

It's not funny.

People comment on the videos to express their opinion, don't be completely naive.

I dont like the Humour, it can sometimes be witty but when compared to the Humour in Doraleus and associates, well.. Its pales in comparision.

I dont think its so much hate from members as it is Constructive criticism

I don't hate the series, I just don't find it that funny - unfortunately, it was also released at the same time as Doraleous and Associates, which is the funniest thing to be released on this website since Zero Punctuation. What could have been an average show ends up looking even worse by comparison.

If I'm honest, I haven't actually seen it, simply because it doesn't look very good. Am I doing the bigger man thing, here?

Oh no, fursecution!

Dogs are people too! How can you be so cruel oh God the humanity the humanity!

... But anyway. As an aside, the term funny animals [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Funny_animal] would probably be more accurate.

I dislike gamedogs but don't worry it isn't discrimination i also hate i hit it with my axe. Game dogs tries to be funny and its not and I hit it with my axe is so uninteresting I can't stand to watch it. I looked at the comments for a little while and it got better to some people but i'm not gonna watch through 10 uninteresting episodes to get to one good one.

They ask for comments, and people give them. You can't criticize them for that.
My main reason is this: It isn't funny or entertaining in any way. In my opinion, it just isn't a good show.

Not type of humor I find funny

And giving feedback is generally what the viewers should be doing so the makers know what they need to do different and what to take out etc. Unfortunatly this show was met with alot of flak from the word go but the maker's didn't really seem to take in the majority feedback.

1. It's not funny 2. It's not in the least bit interesting. 3. It stereotypes beyond believe. 4. Predictable. 5. They're dogs. 6. You can easily know anyone's personality just by looking at them.

On the plus side it made it on the Escapist.

My reasoning is simple.

The jokes and gags are mediocre and poorly executed, or horrifically forced. Even if there was a good joke, its execution usually lets it down.

On the subject of the execution, the voice acting is severely sub par.

The animations are okay..I guess.

The fact that they are dogs is irrelevant to my opinion. In fact, the idea of a dog playing video games entertains me no end. As does this image:

I find it ironic that someone with a Joey avatar would accuse a show to consist of furries.

OT:personally I dislike most of the shows on the Escapist. I just fail to see the humor in a lot of them. It's all personal preference.

If you want my personal reason for not liking the show, just read this.

I was liking Game Dogs until they decided to put in a lot of Sexist Jokes and the "Yiffing" (I just learned what this word meant... And ewwwwww) or at least Yiff urges. Hopefully Russel Crowe (Russ Pitts) will make Season 2 awesome!

If you don't criticize it they won't know how to improve it.
