Why doesn't TF2 have a female character/ if you could make a female char, what would she be like?

Its been bugging me for awhile, and i don't know why, but why doesn't Team Fortress 2 have a female character? I just can't get my head around it.

Also if you could put in a female cahracter, what would she be like? e.g. Her class?

I think they could've made the Spy female and made her a femme fatale.

I like to think of the pyro as the female character in tf2. If there was another character made though, either male or female, I could not even begin to imagine what would make a good class without unbalancing the game, I will leave that to valve.

You sir just won (I thought you were gay? Meh, since people keep changing their avatars I keep getting people mixed up, oh well)

An interesting idea, but if they want to keep it a little more family friendly then maybe something like the spy, as huge hulking women will probably scare the target audience, and there's not too much room for other characters as they seem to have run out of different possible classes.

Valve is trying to get in contact with their main audience of young guys. Also, females are stereotyped as not burly enough for war(most FPSs don't have major female characters).

The tenth class should be a female. Maybe some mid range expert class or something, they don't have enough of those in TF2.

Succubi don't have to be huge.

But they usually are barely wearing any cloth. And they are blessed by the nature, ironically.

But I think the Sniper could get a female version. Or the Scout.

Oh, oh, 10th class? I'd go with a Hunter - bow as a primary class (more ammo than Sniper, bigger damage, but a bit harder to hit), secondary would be... dart blower? and melee would be a spear.

Nuh, I just meant that they couldn't really market a female character as a heavy weapons class, they have to be a sniper or scout, it's what players (I'm feeling sexist right now) would prefer. Smaller..."lithe"? women, mostly the type portrayed in other games.

Thank you, and I suffer from the mental disease known as bisexuality.

I would rather there not be just one female characters, but maybe female versions of all the characters. Unfortunately it's probably impossible to avoid the 'Zoe-esque' sexual taunts.
All-female versions would be fun-
especially with their own special unlockables. Blow-dryer hadouken taunt, anyone?

cant think of a name, but possible another support class.

Something to disrupt the enemy, get like a netgun or glue mines kind of thing that either A: immobilize you briefly or B: just slow you down

mid range weapon, possible SMG style thing

and for melee, maybe baseball bat too but maybe something unique

Or maybe just a female version of all the current classes?

I don't see why it bothers anyone but if it was going to be done then it probably should be done like that.

If they want to do the smart thing, make an update/sequel where all the classes have a female version

Scout - Fitness trainer
Medic - Nurse, duh
Sniper - Same style just female
Heavy - Body builder
Soldier - Dressed in 40's clothing, and a helmet
Spy - a femme-fatal style character with the long dress
Demowoman - for the laughs, looks exactly like the Demoman in dress, even has a beard
Pyro - female shape, maybe some hair coming out of the back of the mask
Engineer - fuck, i don't know, chick in a hard hat? o_O

I'm a friend with one of teh creators of TF2, and he said it was mostly through fear of making it easier for the Rule-34 guys.

I don't know. A sight of a pretty lady blowing up into a pile of gibs is a little too much for me. Boo-hoo;(
What really bugs me is how come all the, say, heavy gunners in the world of TF2 are identical twins, even the ones playing for the opposing teams. I guess they could draw two sets of characters for RED and BLU. Might be a place for a female character in one of them.
