So most of you know that Rock Band hasn?t been released in the Antipodes (that?s Terra Australis to all you plebs). It might be a surprise to hear that Rock Band is coming in 5 days ? the 7th of November. Cause for celebration right?
Wrong.
I wanted this game bad. There was no good reason to delay it in a country that doesn?t even need too many copies (relative to, say, the US) to be sated. I was prepared to forgive that, though, when I heard that Rock Band would (finally) get here. Imagine my surprise, though, when I hear that Guitar Hero: World Tour had been announced for release here on the 12th of November. 5 days after Rock Band was (later) announced to come out. Surely I don?t have to draw a diagram.
So I?m quite pissed. EA (RB?s publishers) almost surely had the ability to release here whenever they wished, but chose not to until some competition reared its ugly head; and suddenly decided it could make a street date that was, suspiciously, not even a week before the release date of that competition. The full Rock Band pack may be $80AU cheaper than GH:WT?s full kit ($250 vs $330 ? also quite suspicious if you ask me), and it may be coming out 5 days earlier, but the fact that EA magically had spare GH copies to throw Australia?s way - like a wealthy man might throw food scraps to his dog ? has pissed me off beyond the point that I?m willing to trade with them in this case.
