Why I Hate CoD4, sometimes

One simple hypenated word, auto-select. Why is it so hard for some people to use that button?
Is there some ridiculous connection to the Marine\SAS side that I don't understand? The teams might as well be named "A" and "B" for all the difference in weaponry. So, someone please illuminate me, because, more than any other fault in the game, this annoys the piss outta me.

It's about mood and personification. I prefer Marines and SAS, even though I know the only difference is appearance.

Not specific to CoD: 4, but I agree. Even in Team Fortress and Team Fortress Classic, and Counter-Strike. It always seems like either the Red Team or the Counter-Terrorists had far more people than the other side. It's especially ridiculous in TF, when both sides are evenly matched. Whenever I play online I just use auto-select for the teams, it's funner when it's closer to an even match.

so what? nearly every game except private games are auto balanced, so teams are fair, why do you give two fucks? i chose sas because they look badass, and i play....ARAB?..i forget what was the Arabian teams side, over marines because, well, i like to stick it to the Americans for a change, but honestly i don't give a fuck who's team I'm on, why do you? Stupid reason mate

the only time I ever care is if one side gets a gillie suit for snipers, but I'm pretty sure the only side that doesn't is the Arabs and they don't play on levels where anyone gets gillie suits anyway.

I think there was a study done that said that people are naturally attracted to Blue over Red, so there's your answer.

I always use OpFor because I KNOW nearly every opponent of mine will be a patriotic American.
On the SAS/Spetznas matches. I both love Brits and Russians, so it's 50-50.

And if CoD4 doesn't in ranked matches, I lol.

Your allowed to choose your team in online play? I thought it just put you on a team based on the average skill of all the players in the match. What side you ended on was random

I prefer the Spetsnaz to be honest, they are my favorite team...
I dislike both the marines and Opfor, mainly because I don't like their outfits.

I guess the reason I was annoyed was because I was playing on a server that didn't have auto-balance. Whenever I join a game, I always auto-select because I don't care which team I'm on. In this particular instance the opposing team (Marines, of course) wouldn't even teams. It got even more aggravating when they'd all cheer and go on about being awesome when they had us outnumbered 2 to 1. I know, you're gonna ask why I didn't just leave. Well, that would mean they chased me out, and I'm only leaving when I want. I don't like losing at the best of times, but the combination of losing, uneven teams, and adolescent boasting set me off. Now, you're gonna tell me -welcome to the internet!- well sometimes it gets through the armour, and just pisses a guy off.

That's weird, because I always noticed the red team having more people than the blue team, and I personally prefer red over blue.
