Assassin thats male. Assassin thats female. Assassin......thats a cat.

Doesn't matter to me really. If I pick up a game that has a pre-determined main character gender, then I'll play it as long as the story and characters are interesting. I still can't see why this issue is continuing to be a massive thumb tack on the seat of gaming.

i think "personally upset" is a very strong term for what irks you,

Personally, I was always suprised Desmond had no female ancestors

That's because in the multiplayer you're playing the same character from the single player, Arno. It's designed to tie into the singleplayer. Your partners are ALSO Arno from their perspective. Why do people willingly omit this piece of information when they ***** about this? It's circulated the discussion 100 times by now.
I'm not sure that makes it better. Or rather how it's supposed to make Ubi look less lazy? Like its 2014 and they go with a multiplayer mode that is just the protagonist with a different colored cloak? I understand that this multiplayer mode is different from their previous multiplayer modes. But didn't they think that anyone would feel shortchanged because of the lack of chracter options in comparison to the wealth of chracter options for their previous games? They used to give you plenty of characters to chose from, just a pretty good mix of genders and ethnicities, and now its four clones with different cloaks. And that's supposed to be a selling point of the game? Or at least I'm guessing that considering all of the marketing that puts the clones front and center. IMO as a gimmick the ship battles was more compelling.....
