I have a PS3 and every good game that has every come out for it, that includes, Valkyria Chronicals, Call of Duty 4 (and 5, but that isn't a good game), H.A.W.X, Resident Evil 5 etc.

But the point is, i seem to keep going back to Endwars, the tactics, the idea's, the figuring-out-your-opponent, the abilitys, the support abilitys, the buying unit upgrades, the unit promotion, gah it keeps bringing me back.

I rarely lose on Theater of War (i play a Europe), but America won't stop attacking, i've won 7/10th of my battles against America, i'll pick a match and win it about 5-10 times in a row then play something else. (if your feeling lucky, add me on my PSN: Spirultima and challenge me on it...punk)

Now this doesn't seem to sound like a game that could beat Valkyria Chronicals, but it is and i was wondering what do you guys think of it?

I dont know why its so damn good but i class it as one of the best xbox games ever and THE best TBS game ever.
You can go back to it so many times because theres so many different things you can do differently. Even if you kept everything the same and just fought the same battles, it would still be different because the computer will attack differently and force you to use different tactics.
one of my favourite bits is having your own customizable battlegroup. I think it gives the impression (that is probally correct, That no one has the exact same army as you.
The different factions, groups, paint and upgrades means that no two armies are the same. you know...this game is making me want to play endwar so bad, i think i'll go play on it now.

I heard the voice recognition was poor and it's very online focused, which pretty much put me off.

Really? The voice recognition worked like a dream for me.

The voice recognition is awesome.
The Theatre of War is not very well executed, but the single player and skirmishes will keep you busy.
Plus the game isn't very expensive now, and well worth it.

It would say that Endwar is, hands down, the best RTS on any console.
Great controls and simple to learn, harder to master gameplay just work with this game.
I love it.

Seconded. I played it on my cousins PS3, and I can see how console players with less exposure to RTS would love it but to someone who's been playing RTS on PC for several years, I found it distinctly average.

For a console RTT it was okay, but only thing that I really want other genres games to copy was the garrison where you could update your units.

I know what you mean, i start off every match the same and only on occasions its similar.

The voice recognition is great. I love Endwar, it's probably my favorite Tom Clancy game. It's a good RTS that has some TBS elements, although I prefer the campaign to the Theatre of War. Online games are fun, but no one really plays it on the 360 and when they do, they're beastly.

I have to admit, I do like End War - for some reason, the voice control gimmick, despite being a gimmick, never gets tiresome - as a RTS fan, I do like that game a lot.

IMO you should pick up a better rts on the pc rts just doesnt work very well on consoles and thats not just an opinion thats a fact. you simply need a mouse and keyboard to be extremely efficient. but i do like endwar its a little fun but repetetive and not as complicated as i like.

Wrong on both accounts.
Have you even played the game?
The voice activation is amazingly good and only miss hears the odd word.
As for it being multiplayer-based, i dont have live (yet...waiting till crimbo) but i still never get bored of the endless different things you can do on it.

Ditto endwars was allot of fun.

I still don't like to play console RTS games though. The voice command was fun, but I keep reaching for a mouse that isn't there.

It is? I played Endwar for a while until I realised I'm basically fighting the same two or three battles over and over. Meh, maybe it's cause I only played single player mode.

I liked it, but since I enjoyed the play style of being the USA I only ever got to play a single map. That got annoying to the point I traded it in so a friend could buy Pokemon.

I do miss it however, the voice commands where easy and fun, I was good at it too.

This is the only console rts ive got AND am going to get, for the same reason.
I always need the freedom of being able to move the screen and the cursor seperatly.
Then again this isnt really an RTS like age of empires is.
This is more of TBS like rome total war is.
I will from now on only get console rts' or tbs' if they have voice command because its so much quicker than having to press buttons.
you just have to say what your thinking.
