Has there ever been a game or a series of games that you wanted to play, but you didn't because it was a Horror game? Not in the sense of "I wish I could enjoy a Horror game but it scares me a lot." but that the game had some kind of innovation or feature or an story that was really intresting but the Horror aspect made it almost unplayable for you.
For me, it has been Resident Evil 4 & 5 for its gameplay and unlockables, Dead Raising for its gameplay, and Dead Space for its limb dismemberment style fighting. Any thoughts?

It's become difficult to actually scare me ever since I played Condemned: Criminal Origins, so I rarely come across that problem. Sure, something leaping out of a closet may make me jump, but nothing really disturbs me any more.

Great, now I'm just asking for it. No pictures, anyone.

I have yet to be scared by a video game. I have played Condemned (1 and 2) Fear (just 1) and Dead Space and maybe on a single occasion jumped. but i do enjoy them mainly becuase the story and Npcs are lot more thoughtout rather then in midless shoot em ups.

The only shooter to scare me was Left 4 dead and that was becuase of a hunter jumping me from a door while i was running from a witch (while i was blinded. Needless to say i was very surprised because that nearly killed me.

Sadly I think that some games have great plots, but I'm too much of a wuss to play them. I recently watched Final Destination 3 and was shaking slightly towards the end...

Dammit, the only way I watched American McGee's Alice was on YouTube!

That and I'm too cheap/lazy to buy it or bother borrowing it from my uncle...

*sigh*

Good point, FEAR made me jump alot, but it still didn't unnerve me as much as seeing one of those long limbed deformed mutants running at me in broad daylight in STALKER SoC.

Oh STALKER... man, I will say that game did freak me out a bit, too. It's just so ridiculously atmospheric and immersive.

And yeah, FEAR isn't scary. It relies on Alma to be scary, and after the first half of the original, she ceased to be. "Oh man, I bet Alma or Fettel will appear behind this door but then when I open it they won't be there. Look, I was right! Again."

I get that a lot, I wanna play Bioshock but idk, its not the creepy scary but more of the "I'm not trying to be scary" scary. Like I can play zombie games just fine like RE5 or L4d. But something about Bioshock just doesn't make me wanna try playing it. >.>

Bioshock isn't bad. Some parts are kind of unsettling but it's fleeting.

Silent Hill 2 and Fatal Frame freaked me out. I love creepy, atmospheric games as opposed to games that just make you jump once in a while.

I am a scardy cat, but I still like horror type games. I LOVE the FEAR series (cannon, not Vivendi) and such. Bioshock is great too. I liked Condemed, and Manhunt. Dead Rising is amazing too, though not really THAT scary, though the occasional eerie ness arises, especially in sparse halls in the North Plaza with power off.

Back in the day, I couldn't play very much Resident Evil 2 because I had zero experience with anything horror. (I was maybe 11 or 12.)

Even as recently as September, I was reluctant to pick up Condemned after playing it for an hour or so. I wasn't actually "scared", but that game still makes me tense up a lot and it seemed like every time I went to play a game, I wasn't in the mood to be tensed up.

Horror games don't scare me. I played The Suffering when it first came out and it wasn't very scary.

idk, doom3 creeped me out, and bioshock was a little scary sometimes, but condemned? no. mostly because the bad game design had me too pissed to be scared.
