This caused a big problem before with people saying they're going to be less active in the community and the site went back to the old captchas, now we're getting asked to click links and all that again?

I just don't question what the admins do with ads anymore. As long as it's not too intrusive, I really don't care. Although an optimist might say that it was because Recaptcha can be a pain in the butt to read sometimes...

Ask the Tech Team or Redesign Team for a direct answer.

Haven't run into them yet, but the new CAPTCHAs haven't been in effect for that long.

The new system works a lot better, I've only had to enter one in numerous posts whereas before I had to enter a code nearly every time I posted. That's a win in my book.

Meh, I don't mind--they're easy to read (heck, the Oracle one just essentially said "type anything" so I did... Pain in the Ass), though that does make me wonder if we'll see an uptick in spambots.

Even if they start the video nonsense again you can always click the button to cycle through to a text one.
