I guess this is supposed to be some kid of discussion about human nature, I would really like to understand this:
All the internet is full of it, there are shows on television about it, an many of the oldest circusclown acts are based around this:
Images of people getting hurt, often quite severely, seems to be the pinnacle of humor and amusement for many people. This includes the pain of children and often lets the viewer wonder if the victim even survived his accident.
Do you laugh at things like these? Do you know what makes it funny?
And why is it funny, if a father smacks his toddler in the face with full force while playing kinect:

But a mother giving her child hot sauce as punishment is not?

Is it about intention? The pain of the first child is sure to have been much worse.
