Ok, long story short, I had a computer hampering problem a few days ago, which caused me to reformat my computer. So I reinstalled all of my drivers, anti-virus, games, and the like, but for some reason now, all of the games I used to have on it before are running a lot slower than they used to =/ which isnt making any sense to me.

I have done a complete reformat and OS recovery and such on this computer before, and everything turned out fine, and now for some reason it is crapping out on me =/ cause my games to lag, and stutter when they never used to before. What could be the cause of this?

And like I said before, I'm pretty dang sure I have installed all of my drivers and all the essentials i had before my reformat.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
could be some of your hardware dying, probably vid or even powersupply or maybe your ram, but if youve reformatted and its still slow then its probably hardware

if someone messed with your computer before you had it ask them, the same thing happened to me and my dad fixed it

Make sure that all of the Service Packs and Updates installed.

In my experience, Win XP takes a dump until SP3 is done loading up.

It happened to me once, but I reformatted and the performance got somewhat better. Not sure what exactly is causing it though...

If you have only just formatted and performance has dropped check that your OS isn't insisting on downloading and installing 100 updates in the background cause that could clog it up. If your on XP make sure you've got the latest service pack also are you using the same drivers you had before? I had a few problems with the latest ATI drivers for my 5770 so I rolled back and it fixed the problems.

If its none of that the last thing i could think of would be your hardware is on its way out, how old is your machine?

well...for some reason, now after doing some of the windows auto-updates, it says it can't find the drivers for my SM Bus controller, and my co-processor...im pretty sure that stuff is important..i think....the games run somewhat fine now...its just that before, they had settings on either to run it in DX9 or DX10

They used to run fine at DX10 but are now running slowly, but the DX9 versions are working fine...i think..what the hell is going on here..
