OT: I'm going to strap you into a plane that you must fly with a 360 controller that has been wired up to the planes controls. Have fun while it lasts, because you will most likely crash into a windmill.
This. Plus all those buttons are used to measure things like altitude, air speed, weight, fuel levels and probably contents of air, as well as to control heating, electricty use, internal pressure, communications, navigation and presumably a whole bunch of other stuff. Flying a plane doesn't consist of go forward and keep level.Timmey said:The answer is also simple, planes have alot more things that need to be controlled. It isnt just throttle and breaks. Therefore a controller is simply not sufficent.
So the Dutch would need restricted air space? On the other hand, that would be an excellent suggestion for Don Quixote.Cpu46 said:FargoDog said:So.. Well if he takes off in an area that has no windmills then he should be fine. =)
Maybe if he had a good k/d ratio.Hookman said:You sir...are a genius! I'm joking thats a ridiculous idea. Would you really feel confident going on a flight when the pilot tells you "Dont worry, I own all the n00bs in Ace Combat 6!"
Dude ive flown a plane, ive done loops and aerobatics all under my own power. Guess what? Its easy. The hard part? The hard part isnt flying. Its checking the fuel gauge before takeoff, navigation, constant communication with the ground and other aircraft and vigilance in the sky as well as proper procedure. Also landing and take off correctly. Its not about being able to do these things. Its about being able to do them perfectly every single damn time. If you screw up, even once, people die. You die. Accidents happen. You cannot be lax, it needs to be flawless. Those guys flying your aircraft to other countries basically NEVER screw up. Thats because of training. The flying bit is easy. The controller is nothing to do with it, its a friggin joystick and pedels for the movement of the aircraft, with a slider for speed.gabe12301 said:Ok, I've noticed that controllers are easy to use and planes take two years to learn how to fly.So, why cant they just connect the plane to a controller?
What if four ipads were added to the controls.XJ-0461 said:This. A) Someone reads my posts
and
B) Someone gets my mostly ungotten "humour"
*Ehem* - Just saying:Jedi Sasquatch said:Have you seen how many buttons are in the cockpit of an airplane?
Holding a controller with that many buttons would just be way too uncomfortable.
