but i agree, it seems i have to search hardfor a funny light harted game now, altho some of my favourites include:
Portal
TF2
Castle crahers!
and i find other than that u have to go searching round for hoursbefore u find one, it is a shame really.

If you want a good game with lots of lolz, just freakin Garry's Mod, the entire point of the 'game' is to strap trafic cones that shoot fire onto zombies then launch them into a volcano! If you buy the cheapest package possible (Gmod+HL2 Deathmatch), it only sets you back $15.

I'm wondering why no one has said "Bad Company" yet. It's pretty the first game that I've played that I would consider to be in a "comedy" genre. The single-player is absolutely hilarious.

Sometimes it's the 'worst made' and 'taking themselves too seriously' games that are the most hilarious I've played.

Dead Rising is a good semi-serious game.
No More Heros is a good one that is designed for fun and doesnt take it self seriously. I also second God Hand - great discount game in the same not serious but fun.

The monkey island ones look good, ive only ever seen someone play part of one.
