I like a few of both of their things and can generally overlook what they've done wrong. So it makes it better than most in their industries (Twilight and Lady Gaga respective... I can't say that word about Twilight and Lady Gaga, I apologize). I can say I'd hate Cage a lot more if I'd read Ghost Rider before he showed up, so he's a lucky bastard on that front. Nickleback I can just ignore mostly.
nicolas cage i really like, his voice is just soothing to hear imo, and i liked his roles in national treasure 1 and 2, kick ass, next, lord of war, gone in sixty seconds, and the family man, i think he plays them pretty well
i haven't seen much hate but at the same time i question these people, who would play these roles better than him?

i think they are alright, i like a good chunk of there songs and i went to there most recent concert with shinedown/sick puppies/breaking benjamin and it was pretty damn good. so i think they are above average but nothing that is a must have
oh and this happens alot...most people who like things dont speak up enough compared to the people who dont like them, usually people preach and rage the shit out of the stuff they dont like, although there are a few exceptions i know of that people preach and rage the shit out of stuff that they do love (there is a different between fanboys and what im talking about)

For Nicolas Cage, well, meh. I neither like nor dislike him (although I do dislike several of his movies)

Cage CANNOT play serious action roles. Kooky action roles maybe, but not serious, straight action roles. His emotional range isn't very good as well. He's a niche actor trying to be an everyman actor. He can't say no to a role, and without a talented director to tell him what to do, he flounders.
