...I can't understand why this would ever provoke anger. A whiff of exasperation perhaps, but it seems like such utterly harmless and crude fun you can either laugh with or - somewhat more tastefully - at for being so out of place.

Because it used to make me laugh, now I just wish for it to end. I've never seen anything quite extreme as that to be honest, but I've seen them pretty darn ridiculous.

Hell, you could punch/kick them anywhere you want and they wouldn't be able to catch you anyway. You could probably take them on and just win because they don't have any sort of mobility like that.

The one thing I can think of that angers me is parents who take their kids to the supermarket and then send their kids to do the shopping while they go stand in line at the cashier. I get that these people want to save time and that it could work, but the children invariably don't know the layout of the supermarket well enough. This always leads to the parents yelling at the children for not being able to find what they were sent to find or bringing back the wrong brand of a product. The scene they cause is disruptive enough in itself, but I think it's entirely unacceptable to treat your children like slaves and then berate them for not knowing what brand detergent you always use or something along those lines.

In all seriousness though, I've met people who care more about their vehichles than their family. This doesn't seem like compensating, just someone who wishes their truck would come alive one day, and be a sweet robot friend with massive steel balls.

Plastering your fiber-glass and bondo covered piece of crap with dozens of "sponsors"
Swapping out your 14 pound alloy wheels with 52 pound chromed pieces of lead and suck.
DIY tinting that mimics the effects of a black hole. Applies to windows and FUCKING HEADLIGHTS.
Cutting springs to lower your car without replacing the struts/shocks. (I've done it, it's retarded dangerous)
Spending thousands of dollars on bolt-on upgrades yet neglecting basic maintenance to the point you have a shiny piece of crap with rod-knock and seized brake calipers.
Using sand to polish your intake manifold. With the suction created by the engine. Yeah.
Installing a massive lift and 42 inch mud-boggers on your street-driven truck.
Using ANY of the thousands of MPG scams, including HHO generators.

I could go on...and on...and on.
