I love it because it really does invoke the same feelings I had while playing Diablo in junior high all those years ago. Diablo had the same thing going for it. The story was "evil guy wants to fuck you and everything else you love." Borderlands gives you the same basic, rudimentary motivation but it at least prefaces your loot whoring with a story driven by greed. The story def. could have been a lot more fleshed out (i.e. character background - who the fuck is that woman), though, and for as much as Mikey Nuemann pushes his story-telling ability it falls extremely short on this one. But this game is all about co-op with your friends and it delivers!
Also, I could do with some more multi-stage boss fights. It would have been cool if the Krom fight was the turret part + a one-on-one. One of my old college buddies was working on that game and was telling that it's based off of the old 80's American Gladiators. Pretty cool.
