IT'S A GOOD MOVIE! I am baffled as to what everyone hates about it! It actually creeped me out, which most 'creepy' movies don't.

But them I'm also baffled by the hate for remakes, and the hate for Nicolas Cage.
That's because most people here have seen the original and saw the remake as a hollow shell.

Of course, what remake? There was no remake of the Wicker Man.

The original Wicker Man was a bit eerie and really disturbing. Not in a gory why, there wasn't much blood in it anyways. It was disturbing because of the story itself.

This made me laugh.

But seriously, this movie was terrible. Nick Cage is (in my opinion) a terrible actor anyway and probably shouldn't be within 50 yards of a movie set at any given time. The most satisfying part was watching him burn at the end. Relieved a lot of stress brought on by other Nick Cage movies.

For sheer comedy value alone, it deserves it's place in the world of movies!

HAHAHAHAH! Oh man, I genuinely laughed at that.

OT: I think they keep making remakes because, in this economy, no ones willing o take a risk on a new theme, so they just recycle old successes.

And I don't get the hate for Nic Cage! I know he has bad hair, but I like him, I think he's a reasonable actor.
Same here, I think why some people hate him is because he has been in some movies where he just doesn't quite fit, or the script he's given sucks. I think he's an average actor which is ok by me. Also... LOL it's amazing how cheerful/funny music can make almost any movie trailer look and feel completely different.

This is right. Why take the risk on a new IP when a remake of an old one will surely get people to come? You'll get the crowd that thought it looked cool and the crowd that wants to see if it did justice to the original. Either way, there's a higher chance of profit for it than a completely original idea. That's why we see so many films based on comics and books.

Any movie that presumes to be able to REPLACE Sir Christopher Lee..... Just no....

Although it was great to see Nick punch out those women.
