wierd things you do while gaming?

I play better if i stand whilst playing games.

I tend to tilt my head to the side, and there's a picture of me and my buddies playing 4 player Timesplitters 2 (this was...perhaps 6 years ago), and 2 of my friends are also tilting their heads. It isn't a lot, but it's noticeable (well, for someone looking at me, I don't notice that I do this...).

I've been known to save scum and reload simply to avoid being caught by guards, even if I could easily take them in a fight. I guess I just don't enjoy feeling like I screwed up the stealth.

I also have a few superstitions about when to press buttons in luck-based things, or a superstition that, say, pressing X repeatedly will make something load faster, or make me do more damage.

I use gunfire sounds to make a beat... it only works with automatic guns like submachine guns, but it's hilarious to watch people stare at you.

I don't know why but often when playing I move my jaw down and to the left a little, then I notice and close it but it happens again

When I play a game, I refuse to put down my controller to do anything. It really screws me over when I am playing a shooter on my wii, I go to scratch my face and I accidentally huck a grenade and kill myself...

Well when I say in front of a wall I used to bang my head against it while playing, usually rythmically. Sometimes I have to push the analog sticks really hard everywhere even if it mess with what im doing.

I have to sit down, no matter what. And if your playing too, you have to sit down as well. I can't count how many times my uncle and I have been playing something when suddenly he'll say "my back hurts" and then leaps to his feet. I always pause the game and just stare at him. If I or anyone else stands while playing a video game, it makes me a nervous wreck.

When an NPC of some variety tells me what my objective is I usually think "Fuck you, what if I don't wanna?" if I'm not totally immersed.

Mh...I sometimes talk to guards while sneaking past them, kinda like voicing my thoughts.

For example: In Metro 2033, I had to sneak by a guard who walked right past me, turned on his flashlight, and stopped, staring in one direction. I was quite literally right behind him and to the right. So, I was sitting there, going, "Please turn to the left...the left...not the right, don't look right, look left."

When ever I'm playing an RTS I say the orders I give the units "Rocket spammers (I name them to...individualy)you go here and shoot them when they come around the corner, and vroom-vroom, you drive here and blow these assholes up" and I also narrate what I'd imagine the squad would be saying when they shoot at/get shot at. "Noooo! Meat Shield!Stay with me" "I'm sorry Meat Shield The Second, looks like your in charge now". And yeah, thats pretty much me, I take casualties very seriously

After playing Fallout New Vegas for 41 hours straight I walked over to my kitchen to cut up some steak and I stood there waiting from the thing saying "A to Take Knife", after 10 mins I was wondering, "CRAP WHAT IF IT TURNS RED?! THEN HOW WILL I CUT MY STEAK IF IT'S CONSIDERED STEALING?!"

Crouch down, and see if you're still hidden.

Come on man, I thought you said you had been playing for 41 hours straight? You should know that!

I find my self making up back stories for my characters in MMOs on why they are doing what they are doing. an if I'm in hostile area I tend to wisper and move real slowly as not to get anyones attention. XD

Erm, Generally tend to make a life for my characters (eg. in Fallout New Vegas my Novac house has a reasonable number of items such as dino toys around it). Also in the same game, from level 10 onwards I tend to drag corpses away from the main roads of freeside and into alleys (I'm public spirited). The final thing I do happens most often in HALO, when I was in theSabre on Long Night of Solace I almost fell over with trying to orientate my head with the spaceship; whilst on MG turrets (180 arc ones) I will crane my head to look around the limits of my vision.
And I stand up when it gets tense.
God I'm weird...

I pick at the skin of my top lip where it starts to cruve and you get that little bulge when i think or am in a stressful sitution. but i do that outside playing games too.

I do that too. Also, I obsessively tap the reload button constantly even if my weapon is fully loaded. I have to make a conscious effort to stop it.

I do that too, after I've fired even ONE round.. you never know what's around the next corner and online it usually helps.
