Well I'm just here for the forum man, not the featured content.

But I did see some mention of it in certain threads. Seems like the guy had some moral problems with the game. Why you'd go into a GTA game expecting any kind of political correctness, I'll never know.

Why would anyone actually care this exists?
No one's making you play it.
Everyone knows that just how violent video games lead to real life violence - games based on infidelity lead to real life infidelity.

I'm also the greatest 18th Century Dictator due to all the time I have spent playing Europa Universalis IV.
I play Dynasty Warriors, can you imagine the blood on my hands?

I hear pathetic 3rd Century Chinese peons screaming in my nightmares...

Eh, it sounds boring to be honest. That's all I can say about it.

Also why would this be any worse than killing someone in games?
Well, it's a simulator. As far as I know there's no Terrorist Massacre Simulator and if there were a game which simulates the 9/11 or that Norwegian massacre on the island which killed 70 people, there'd be a pretty big uproar. The argument would be that DOOM and COD aren't the same, it's self-defense or morally upright killing. Whether you agree with that or not is up to you, i'm just saying the type of game makes it different.
Does that really change anything? Even though this is a simulator it doesn't actually involve any real people, living or dead so it's just as unattached to the real world as Call of Duty. It isn't even realistic so why should we even bat our eyes at this?

Since this has been brought up here already... I'll just say that given my own experiences with both physical relationship abuse and infidelity, I would rather endure physical abuse than infidelity in a relationship. And i say this as someone who still bears razor blade scars from when my ex-fiance tried to kill me.

With the thousands of murdering simulators out there, people are freaking out over a cheating simulator?
Anything that tiptoes the boundaries of gender relationships (or gender politics) tugs VASTLY more at the heartstrings of gamers than murdering/butchering wave upon wave of our fellow man...it's some kind of golden rule :)

Well ok, maybe not "encourage," but "simulates."
In the same way Grand Theft Auto simulates criminals performing criminal actions? Does GTA also disgust you?
Some parts of GTA, yeah. Listen, it would take a great deal of time to explain why I have more animosity towards this than I do GTA, and I'm not sure you'd really care to hear it anyway. Besides it's not as though I'm telling anyone they can't play it. Go ahead, play it, just don't ask me to like it (the game I mean).

I didn't say we should, I just pointed out that it is different.

Name one. Go on. Self-defense isn't murder, according to the laws of most western countries, and eastern ones too I'd guess although I can't say for sure. Military operations aren't deemed murder, although they could be according to some international treaties. You can go around killing civilians in a lot of games, but that's not the goal you're given. Even in GTA you're pursued by the cops afterwards so it's not strictly a simulator even though you might be given murder as a goal.

Who exactly is freaking out over this game? Am I missing some outrage?

So why is adultery raising any eyebrows again?

I love the fact that everyone who thinks the game is in poor taste gets pointed at something different in poor taste and gets the "This is also bad! You have no right to dislike this at all!"-argument.

While i didnt mind this particular case, because the game does a pretty good job of getting the "This is in no way meant to be taken seriously."-thing across: I would indeed put a "Cheating Simulator"- that is delivered in a serious manner in the same catgory as Manhunt, at least in terms of "disgusting". And before anyone gets up in arms about it, I do think murder is worse than cheating. Who wouldnt? But it's both delivered virtually on a medium that is supposed to be fun, and in this context i would label them with the same sh*t-stamp.

was quite boring , but very humorous. Would of loved to see swapped sexes and a lot more anger when you got caught such as a slap on the face or a knife thrown at you.

Since cheating is a thing, it isn't too hard to imagine someone making it into a game. Considering there are so many Japanese Dating sims ranging from teen-rating to beyond hentai... this seems tame.

Yeah, kinda this was my first thought. I have no problem with the game being made, but I can't imagine a guy going like "Oh fuck yeah, now this, THIS is what I wanted!"

actually you know what scratch that I can imagine a guy doing that.

EDIT: Kay so I tried it out, not very hard at all. Pretty crude in the mechanical sense, and I think that's what makes it so funny. Plus, what are you expecting from a game made in 48 hours? Was okay for a chuckle.

Wonder if a wife-beating game would be laughed off as easily? Break her ribs, black her eyes and keep it under wraps from family, friends and neighbors.

However you paint it spousal abuse is spousal abuse, whether that be physical or emotional.
Not one to take the more extreme tack here, but it seems quite gauche regardless. I'm not entirely convinced that any sort of gameplay would be able to compensate for such a hackneyed plot.

One is forced to wonder what sort of demographic this appeals to.
Wasn't it made for some kind of indie developer contest? I doubt many of those games are intended for actual sale
