I'm sorry about coming to The Escapist with this question, but I would like to know the answer before I buy a motionplus, and I can't seem to find it anywhere. While I know that some games, such as Wii Sports Resort, are built around motionplus, do any of you know if motionplus will increase the performance or accuracy of the Wiimote in non-motionplus games? For instance, will it make it easier to shoot in RE4 or Metroid Prime 3? Will it increase the accuracy of sword inputs in No More Heroes? Any help would be appreciated.

Also, I might as well ask, how do you feel about the motionplus? Does it bother anybody that Nintendo seems to be charging a rather exorbitant price for a product that basically makes the Wiimote do what it should have done in the first place?

No, the game has to specifically support the add-on. It will not do anything to the previous titles.

It's just retarded that Nintendo are making people buy an add-on product that makes the Wii-mote do what it was supposed to do in the first place. It's like the business with those guys that made wireless nun-chucks, Nintendo should've released it like that in the first place.

The Motion-Plus thingy doesn't affect the pointer functionality (it's based on the sensor bar and the camera in the remote), which is what the shooter games like RE4 and MP3 use. So, no.

As Miyamoto recently stated, [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.126314] there was no way they could've had the Wii MotionPlus out during the beginning of the Wii's lifecycle because the technology wasn't available in a small-enough size. Besides, this is no place for a discussion like this.

As others have already stated, the game has to support Wii MotionPlus for it to have any noticeable effect. You won't see any difference if you tried to play older games with it.
