So I just bought a Wii (I know, bit late, but I have my reasons) and I've had a problem with it.

So when I first plugged it in, the picture was EXTREMELY blurry. As in my eyes were hurting when I was playing games. I did a google search and it seemed that if I bought a component cable it would fix it as I have a HDTV.

It did fix it somewhat, but the picture is still a bit blurry. Nowhere near as bad as before, but still noticeable.

Any idea how I can fix this?

Was it pre-owned or brand new? Have you checked the settings to make sure the right cable/output settings are selected? And shouldn't this be in the advice section or something?

i would say the first issue is that its a Wii, now go from there :p

aha sorry im joking.

I think the issue might be that its not really an HD system, hooked up to an HD TV. My brothers TV was like that when hooked up to regular cable. Came out like CRAPPPP

Wii've got an issue here!

Had to.

OP, your problem is the fact that the Wii is a standard definition machine only. It can't go higher than 480i. It is literally impossible to change.

But your eyes will adjust. I used my Wii for the first time on my new HD when I got Skyward Sword, and although it took a bit, the game eventually looked fine to me. I can even go back and forth now without waiting for my eyes to readjust.

I'm sure that can't be a good thing...

Why? I'm just used to it now. If anything, it's a good thing. The games look fine no matter what.

I mean, obviously, my Xbox or PC hooked up look better, but I'm used to the blurrier look of the Wii.

Yeah, his is standard. So it looks a lot better on standard?
Is your TV larger than his? It's kind of like when shops use specific shows and adverts in their stores on TV. Larger and more modern TVs kind of look weird with a lot of stuff. Maybe the Wii simply isn't optimised for your size and kind of TV.
