AMD just tweeted that they are supplying the graphics hardware for the new Wii U. Unfortunately, they do not specify which model of hardware or any specs whatsoever, but they do say it is from the "HD" series of graphics cards, which means their 5000 and 6000 series. If that's the case, the WiiU might be the first DX11 capable console.

"First DX11 compable console" huh? Spelling mistakes notwithstanding, what does that matter? I thought DirectX was just a PC standard. Since consoles are all identical, they don't need to know which DirectX they are compatable with.

The wii u uses a RV770 chip from the Radeon HD 4870 so no Dx11, it does have a nice 1024mb GDDR5 video memory with a 16mb eDRAM chip (360 has 10mb) it will probably be used for the same reason (free AA)

Have a source on that? 4870 is a decent card.

might be false but gels with what I would expect from seeing the tech demos and it's place as a 7.5 gen type machine.

Reggie said that the video trailer for Wiiu line up shows only the 360/PS3/PC Versions.

Those 2 videos shows 2 REAL Tech demoes from Wii U A Long with Reggie stating that the trailers only show 360/ps3/pc versions :

Also Nintendo said that game cube controller and titles aren't supported which makes the rumor you said is false.

Oh look that fake spec sheet again.

The fact that we know that the CPU is a 45nm chip, and likely POWER7 based due to the Watson spiel in the press releases, automatically makes that spec sheet false :p

The mention of 250GB internal storage on a 2.5" HDD also shoots it down as everything we've heard speaks of 8GB internal flash with option for SDHC/USB-HD.

The R700 line would have to be highly customised and take parts from the 5xxx series to have the features listed (eyefinity) at which point you basically have just built a chip from that line anyway at a higher cost with higher power draw.
