Title says it all. What are your predictions for the WiiU's launch price?

I'm guessing somewhere between $50-100, closer to the latter. That's if this is just a controller peripheral for the Wii. If they indeed release a new console alongside this controller, my estimate lies at $350 for the console bundled with one controller.

Well...given I'm Australian, I'll pay double whatever American's pay, even though my dollar is paying $1.07 USD as of right now.

Keep in mind there is a new console behind this as well, not just a controller. Given the complexity of the controller as well, I'd imagine those'll go for close to $100, but I'm betting a bundle of everything will be at least $500.

QFT. I'm definitely going to wait till a price drop before getting the new console though, especially if PSVita is backward-compatible with the PSP. PSVita is one of my first priorities right now.

Edit: Damn it! I reordered my badges and accidentally clicked the red button.

My bet would be around the $350 mark for the console and controller. Nintendo never sell hardware at a loss, but they can't price it too high or people won't go for it. Remember, the Wii was popular because it was cheap. The production cost of the console hardware should be much cheaper by the time its released (I think PS3's now only cost about £100/$140 to make) which means the deciding factor will be the controller cost which can't be too high unless they expect people to only have 1.

I am going to bet around $300 for the console and one controller. It could go to $400, but I think that would alienate the non-core gamer market, and since Nintendo still seems to want to reach them on some level, I do not think they will go that high. Remember, one of the most attractive things about the Wii (other than the motion controls) was it's price point. It released at $250 when all other consoles were $400 or more. That price point was certainly one driving factor behind sales (would near as many people have purchased the thing if it was $400? I think not), and one would think Nintendo wants to emulate that success with the WiiU.

I'm betting a middle benchmark of around $250-300. I don't expect Nintendo to price their stuff too high, but for all this... they're gonna need to charge something significant.

Right gotta throw in this shtick.

Over 9,000!!!!!!!

Now that that's done with I'd wager anywhere from $150-300 is a safe bet.

I'm going with (all US dollars) $300~$350 for the entire console, with one tablet controller. Then $100~150 for the controller alone. A 6 inch multi-touch screen along with a infrared sensor and a bunch of accelerometers don't come cheap. The 6-Axis is $55, and the WiiMote (with motion +) is $80. So I think the Wii U controller will be hit triple digits.

A lot of it depends on the console specs. The rumors up to now suggests that it's built on 2008 PC tech and is more powerful than the PS3, but not by a lot. Nintendo has never gone the Sony way and make expensive toys, so I think the console will top out at about $350.

I am honestly surprised at how high people are guessing for the pricing. All nintendo has said is a tiny bit about how the controller will work. For all we know the thing for have the same graphics capabilities as the wii. Based soley on who nintendos current target market is I would be pretty shocked if this thing ended up costing more then $250 even that is cutting it close. If it does it will loose the very thing that made the wii so successfull and that was its price point.
But just look at the specs.
We know that it'll run HD video. So just compare it a PS3, which is at $299 currently (this should be an underestimate, since the WiiU is rumored to be more powerful than the PS3). The WiiU is comparable to a PS3 with a 6 inch multi-touch screen on its controller. Even if we take out the HDD and give the PS3 a price drop for 2012, it's hard to see how Nintendo can push the price lower than $250. Nintendo isn't known for taking losses on console sales, so I think $300 is more likely.

I'd say it would be around $350, with a large chunk of that being the controller cost. The console itself is comprised of technology that isn't exactly cutting edge (nor does it need to be). Yes, the console will probably be a bit more powerful than the PS3, but ask any PC gamer they'll tell you that's pretty easy to do. So it won't be as expensive as the PS3 was at its launch. $350
