I've just gotten my hands on 6,000 shiny Wii points, and while I have a few games in mind I'm not sure just what to do with all of it.
So far I have Super Metroid, A Link to the Past, Super Mario RPG... but beyond that, I'm wracked with indecision, especially concerning WiiWare.

Help me, Escapist! Recommend me fabulous titles to spend my precious points on. I'm particularly intrigued with the Crystal Chronicles game. I've played both the Gamecube and DS versions; which does it more resemble? Frankly, is it worth 1,500 points?

UPDATE
I have:
Super Metroid
A Link to the Past
Super Mario RPG
Paper Mario
Super Mario World
Lost Winds

I have 700 points left. Suggestions?

I wouldn't spend my money on Crystal Chronicles unless you have:

A) A LOT of time on your hands to go through the crap before you get to the gold.

B) You also want to pick up all the pay stuff you can buy for the game itself.

I would highly recommend Lost Winds. That's a game that feels like it equals exactly ten dollars. I'd also say Bomberman Blast if you like party games. It's so simple that anyone can pick up and play, but it's also a game that can be mastered. So much fun to play.

For Virtual Console, I'd recommend my top three games I play on the regular basis. That would be Punch Out if I feel like a quick boxing match, Alien Crush if I want to do something that doesn't require a whole lot of thought (great for after school and late night), and Paper Mario if you've got time to kill.

Speaking of Alien Crush, there's a new Wiiware title that looks like a remake of it. If you end up downloading that one, let me know how it is. I'm going to buy it anyway, but I'd like to hear if anyone else enjoyed it.

I like the look of Lost Winds, but I'm always wary of blurbs for what I hope is obvious reasons. Can you give me a quick rundown of it?

Well, Lost Winds is about a boy who falls into a pit and ends up freeing a Wind Goddess. The Goddess begins talking about a great evil that's overtaking the lands and how she needs to regain all her lost powers. It's a bit of a puzzle game that centers around, well, wind.

I can't really explain it much better than that. Just think Zelda except all your upgrades are for your wind powers. Here's the wikipedia article if you want to read up on it:
