Weird title phrasing aside, amazing spiderman comes out at the start of july and then two weeks late batman. Now 2 weeks is a pretty good amount of time to rake in some cash especially over the 4th of july but it wont have the long smooth ride that avengers had coming out in may and then nothing really to compete with it for 2 months.

How do you think both movies will affect each other?

Not really, given the original trailer and then hasty recut, I doubt anyone's expecting this movie to make much money outside of the initial first 2 weeks excitement. As for me, I'll go see it at a matinee, but I'm expecting this is Green Lantern again.

Truly sad that they got a promising young actor to do that.

I would guess that Spiderman, seeing as it comes first, would take away from Batman. I don't think people will anticipate superhero burnout until it happens to them, and Batman will be the victim of that trend.

Ultimately though, I don't think it will matter too much. Both will probably do very well

I don't think so..I think they will both preform well financially, Batman more so because of TDK.

Maybe, I mean it could go either way like-

People who did not know the release date to The Dark Kngiht Rise would go see Amazing Spider-man and by the time it arrive they can't watch it since they spend all of their money on Spider-man (if they can't afford to watch both films that is).

People that does know when The Dark Kngiht Rise decided not to watch Amazing Spider-man since they are saving their cash for that film instead.

Either way the above examples not really valid considering maybe the people do know when both of the films are out and can afford to watch as many films as they want, it's simply a matter of which films they want to see the most.

Oh, come on, you did that on purpose.

Actually, I'd like to see Batman in a relationship with Spiderman. Cause.

My first thought when seeing this thread `Well, it's probably on Deviantart somewhere`.

But seriously, I think Batman will do better, but Spiderman will probably do fine. Unless its rubbish.
Neither of them will be getting my movie-money because I am broke. ;o;

I think Spiderman has a pretty good chance to bomb. People just aren't that excited about it, so yes, Batman will screw Spiderman

The title conjured weird thoughts in my head.

I think they'll both do good, but Batman will do better

2 weeks is more than enough. And it's not like everyone is gonna ignore Spidey's existence after DKR comes out. I'm personally excited about both, admittedly DKR a lot more.

Batman is the final in a trilogy, of course it will be massive.
First movies in reboots don't always open strong, and even then the time between Spiderman 3 and this is a bit too short for people to want to sit through Spiderman's origin story again.
That said I really wish they would've taken the route that Ultimate Spiderman took, he's a high school student and all but they took his immaturity and focused it on his comedy.

Hard to say. I'm not going to see Spiderman. It's way too soon after the previous Spiderman movies to garner any interest from me. I am, however, very stoked for DKR. After all the critical acclaim for The Dark Knight, I think you'd be hard pressed to find someone who is too "burnt out" from superhero movies after Spiderman to want to watch DKR.

DKR has also been advertised for quite some time now. You'd have to be living under a rock in North America to not know it's coming out next month. However, until I read this thread, I wasn't really aware that Spiderman was coming out very soon.

I think Batman will do better, because it's Batman and people will want to see if it compares to the Dark Knight. But I think Spiderman is definitely impressing more as far as trailers and promotionals go. I'm sure it would significantly hurt Spiderman if it came out the same weekend as Batman, but as it stands I don't think it'll do too much damage.

I checked, it's not.
I was a little dissapointed that this thread wasn't what I thought it would be :/
Also, You are hilarious.

OP: I think Batman may do better. It's been more anticipated. on the other hand, Everyone loves spiderman....

I propose a battle royale.

Batman will do better because by all accounts, it looks like the better movie. Spider-Man's being billed by the U.K. reviewers as "the superhero movie for the Twilight generation". And Batman is overall a more popular character. I don't think the Dark Knight Rises has much to worry about
