Will my computer run L4D2?

I have been contemplating buying Left 4 Dead 2 on Steam, but my computer is crap and i don't know if it will run it. =/

System Specs.
Dell Dimension DM061
Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bit
Intel Core 2 Duo 4300 1.80GHz 1.80GHz (dual core)
2GB Ram
55GB Free Hard Drive Space
NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT card 256Mb Ded. Video Memory, 776mb Shared Memory

Yes, but only on the lower setting. You might want to upgrade or get it on the 360.

buy it anyway, even if it doesn't run you can still install it to another computer if you get a new one somewhere down the line.

if you dont want a new one then im not sure, you have enough ram and hard drive space but the processor might hurt the performance. read the system requirements of the game, i cant remember them. i think it would play, but i dont know.

Definitely. You'll never run it on high settings, but that computer can easily take any source engine game.

Uh, I went on that site, went to see how well it would run Batman: Arkham Asylum. It showed that my video card exceeded the requirements by quite a bit in that department, yet still said I needed to upgrade it?

It meets minimum requirements, not recommended. I used to have that card, if you want to be playing anything on it now you will be playing at the lowest settings at a low resolution, your cpu is rather lacking as well, if you want to be playing games on your computer you need to be upgrading.

My computer is 5 years old, and it says that i can. Its about a quarter past the minimum mark, but you have now worried me about my processor. Is there a demo anyware, as there is not one on steam, to test my comp on?

Nah, I've definitely got it on the recommended tab.

I've sort of come to the conclusion that the site doesn't know my particular video card or something. I checked Dragon Age: Origins, it said the same thing, my card exceed the requirements easily, yet tells me I need to upgrade. However, I know for a fact that I can run the game on ultra-high, seeing as I play it a lot.

ninja'd. You have to be careful what it says on that site though. If it fails minimum go and see why. You might just need to update drivers.

You should also worry about your GPU as well, neither are that crash hot. Unless your happy playing things at ultra low, spend some money on parts first.

If you think you need a million pounds to upgrade your nuts, just do some research it shouldn't take much to get some of the basics, Toms Hardware generally has some pretty good articles, tho I don't know how newb friendly they are.

And it looks like its gonna save me some money.
L4D2 is a game iv also been wanting to get on steam but i wasn't sure about my graphics card.
This says its fine but my RAM is bad.
On minimum that is.
Recommended it looks like im gonna haft to upgrade a few more things.
But at least i know what i need to look at.
