With the arrival of playstation move, does anyone think it will pave the way for developers to make cheap, lazy family games, and ruin the console just like developers ruined the Wii with torrents of horrible games like Carnival Games etc?
Or do you think it will keep its integrity?

I think several terrible games will be developed for it, some people will buy into it. Most of us will just pass though. Ruin the console? No. Encourage the develop of terrible family based games that will be dropped from being made for the console 3 months later? Yes.

I think Natal is more likely to do that instead of Sony. Sony rarely seems to sell out that much...

I doubt it. They previewed SOCOM 4 with the MOVE. It works really well with hardcore and family games like LBP( also shown at GDC)

Do you know why the Wii has so many "cheap" games?

It's because developers don't have much interest in making good controls that match the Wii.

So the developers who don't want to can just ignore the Move and make games with the regular controller.

Therefore, I don't think it will be cheapened.

Sony has already had cheap, lazy games put out for it and it hasn't affected it at all... so no :)

I don't know... LOTR: Aragorn's Sword may be bad, but that's a game I must have, so I'm sold already. :p

Isn't the market big enough for both? Nintendo has been feeding the casual market for years now and still we get our hardcore games. I know it is a hard concept to understand but Farmville and Mew Two can exist together on the market without 1 effecting the other. Or did I miss the part in MW2 where you have to stop shooting people and tend to acres of watermelons?

I dont mean that developers will stop making the good games, i just mean will so many bad games be made that it could sully the reputation of the console, a lot of people now immediately think of rubbish family games when someone says Wii, obviously developers are still making great games for it but it has a bad rep

Natal looks better than Move. Move is basically a cheap Wii remote. Natal can potentially support head-tracking.

Still, there'll probably be a bunch of crap released for it, and a few good games. Just like the Wii, and just like I'm assuming will happen with Natal.

The move system may itself be a very expensive investment. They said 100$ for the first pack (2 move controllers I believe, if I find time when I wake up I'll put the link) now that's 2 controllers, some games (i.e. "motion fighter") require 2 for solo play. Now for a family (The main selling point of party games is to have the whole family game) that would be 100$ for me, 100$ for mom, 100$ for dad, and 100$ for a brother or sister... That's a cool 400$. Now this may make the PS3 drop, but will still butt fuck your wallet...

I think it was one controller and a playstation eye camera for 100$
Edit: I guess there will be a game like Move Sports Resort with the controller

I dont think it'll effect the PS3 at all, at most it will add another control option for the player, so they will choose if they want to use it.
