Personally I've always been a fan of the series, and no, I'm neither single, nor in junior high, nor extremely lonely. I just think the games are fun, like Indiana Jones but sexy. Anyway, I still cant see the reasoning behind hiring a model to portray a video game character. I don't think they model the actual rendering off her, they just take pictures and make press announcements and stuff. what is the purpose here? Do they just have way too much money or is there a legitimate reason this makes sense?

they do use the model for the actual rendering of her, it's just for the last ten years they've picked basically identical women so it's hard to notice.

personally I didn't understand why they didn't keep the same model. I think they did until they used Angelina Jolie (when the first tomb raider film came out) and then since then the original was considered to old to come back so they get a new one with each release.

well said, although the girl in the pic is actually an accomplished dancer and gymnast, not world beating mind you, but still she is good. I watched a video of her doing her thing as Lara Croft in front of the press for marketing reasons, to be honest while she wasn't bad, I felt embaressed for her .... and the journo's having to be there.

I'm glad that the look of Samus Aran cannot be replicated in real life, I find her to be more interesting, the first lady of videogames doesn't get half as much coverage as Lara "the insipid tart" Croft though

I'm glad Samus doesn't have huge tits, although I'm very unhappy at the way Nintendo are currently treating the girl, Zero Suit Samus in Brawl?, please dont pimp my fav character mr Nintendo?, keep her suited ok?

Thats what I mean!, Nintendo are pimping and trying to turn Samus into a sex symbol for a new generation, that is not what she was 4 years ago, so why are they doing it now. My point is (its a crap point but its a point none the less), Samus was sexy before they took off her suit, she was sexy because of the character she was, not how she looked.

Take you for example, I find you intriguing, but I don't know what you look like, you didn't have to show me boobies to get me interested in what you have to say.

Remember the original game where at the end she took her helmet off and it was revealed that she was a girl? For years there were rumors that if beaten with a high enough score, she would completely strip. Even in the days of 32 bit, gamers wanted some action from the girl.

yes, but thats the gamers wishing it, it wasn't in your face like with Lara Croft. Hence that rumour is not true, its the gamers, not the actual character.
