Will there ever be a Zelda game better than Ocarina of Time?

I watched the Skyward Sword trailer and it looked pretty good, the graphics looked kind of weird at first but they grew on me, but at the same time I thought that the game wasn't going to be as good as the ones for the Nintendo 64.

So give me your opinion, do you think there will be a Legend of Zelda game better than Ocarina of Time, or is there already one, or should they stop making them before they start making really bad ones? And please explain your answers!

I doubt there will be a Zelda game that I'll like more, for one, the game is great, and every time I play or listen to the songs from Ocarina of Time, I feel nostalgic.

I'm FAR too blinded by nostalgia to judge that subjectively.

That said I think OOT is the best.

There already were...your nostalgia just overpowers the greatness of the later Zelda titles.

Wind Waker and Twilight Princess are better in many ways, but especially in control.

Unless you were playing the inferior Wii version of TP, like I was.

The Gamecube version slams the Wii version to the curb.

Majora's Mask was about on par with OoT for me.

This is coming from someone with NO NOSTALGIA, who never owned an N64 or Gamecube, and played them all on his Wii less than a year ago.

Probably nostalgia talking, but OOT and Majora's Mask will always be the best Zelda games for me.

I think you answered your own question. Ocarina of Time is pure nostalgia at this point (while still remaining a stellar example of video game artistry). It doesn't matter if any game is as good or better than that, it will never be remembered as fondly as Ocarina until the next generation, who won't remember it. (Or those little punk kids who see the N64 graphics and say "this game looks terrible compared to my 3D Virtual whatever, therefore it sucks". bastards.)

Personally I really liked Twilight Princess.

Still though, I also really liked OOT. The series may never produce a better game, but as long they keep trying I'll keep buying.

A Link to the Past was already better than OOT.
I'm with this one. I haven't particularly cared for any of the titles since Link to the Past. I suppose that's why I responded so favorably to 3D Dot Game Heroes.

What an impossible question to answer. You can't guess the future in the absence of data. OoT was great, but obviously it wasn't some kind of so-perfect-straight-from-heaven game that there is no possibility of a better game being made. On the other hand, that doesn't mean the possibility will be actualized. Plus there is a huge issue of individual taste. What exactly were you hoping to discover from this thread?

How about Wind Waker and Twilight Princess?

I played OoT after I played Wind Waker and Twilight Princess and I thought it was horrible.

OOT was amazing, MM was meh, WW was meh, TP was amazing. though i should rate TP over OOT, due to nostalgia and loving the game for so long i can't.

There already is, it's called Twiilight Princess.
No, they shouldn't stop making them, they should just keep making games the same way of playing, but with different levels.

I thought that Twilight Princess was a strong runner up and they definatly can make one better if they keep working at it (and they will, we'll keep buying they'll keep making nothings gona change)

While OOT was good, MM was more "full", the overworld had more secrets and more bad guys to kill (and generally, more stuff to do with the bomber's journal and mask collection), TP have the same problem as OOT, with a relatively empty/lifeless overworld and few secrets, but the combat was fun, dungeons were nice, and i liked the characters (exept Zant, annoying psycho).
