Colour me cynical, but I doubt that will happen; becoming an MP is easy enough, but acting in the peoples interest is pretty bottom rung for them; it'll be you vs everyone in that regard.
But the point is to actually try <3
Even if I fail, it could show the public just how little some MPs care about the people they are paid to serve <3
So I'd go in to better serve the people, lower MP wages, attack the millions of points being saved by councils for golden handshakes, etc <3
MPs are paid to serve the people, by the people <3
They aren't paid by the people to serve themselves, like they are doing >.>

Don?t see the point. I?d rather be acknowledged and remembered during my life; once I die I don?t care if people remember me. I think maybe we get too caught up in remembering people and being interested in the individual, especially when we remember the person over the work we are supposed to be remembering them for.

If I ever get my book written and if it becomes popular then yes. Otherwise definitely not.

Probably not. If one of my books ever gets published and I can do that full time and make something great, there's a very slim chance; otherwise, no.

I mean, I can think of many ways to make myself remembered, but all of them are crimes.

It seems that recent generations feel this, given that we live in an 'immediate celebrity' age. The 15 minutes of fame was too short for some people and they want more. Of course this is merely a generalisation.

I personally do not care about being remembered, well not at least globally. Perhaps only family wise, in some family tree, but I don't seek the glorification from others so that my name can live on in the ages.

"will your work impact society and history or not?" (question mark inserted)

Everything we do in our work or in a social capacity has influence on history. Mostly it will often fall under the category of "being so insignificantly small that it makes no real impact globally, and not make us memorable". Mostly we are remembered by those close to us, those people who actually cared about us.

Wait....are you trying to tell me what my title shall be!?

HOW DARE YOU!!! I will abuse every ounce of my power as I please!!! I shall SUE. SUE I TELL YOU SUUUUUUUE!!

Other than that I'm gonna really do everything I can to make sure the political world doesn't forget my crazy ass.
I say that because if you are labeling yourself with the drastic swing bi polar than you have to be pessimistic to the point of suicide half the day, and jumping off the walls and wandering into nowhere speaking mindless babble for the other half.
Hmmm seems no different than how I usually am XD

Nah, but seriously that'd be nuts if I actually became a Bi-polar lawyer

You should totally get some business cards and hand them out to strangers while introducing yourself as the Bi-Polar Lawyer.

Also, to answer the question. No, I won't be remembered. Least not until I get caught for stashing the bodies of those two prostitutes into the flaming garbage can down by the lake.
2 prostitutes you say!? Well my good man considering I'm pursuing the field of prosecuting then by all means I'll be sure to remember you MWahahahaha

Oh my god what kind of create I made with this thread.

Actually thou, just about everyone here made some valid points. It shows we got people of intellect and reason here at the escapist. I would just get a pile of steamy shit if I made the same post somewhere else on the internet. I shutter what the replys would be on 4Chan.

The public are sheep essentially; politics is so boring and convoluted many of us simply watch the news and do the classical random choice, hoping for the best. Very few of us-myself included- bother to even learn the candidates manifesto's because we are so uninspired by these dwarfs standing in the shadows of giants.

We all know very well our rulers are scum; we know they want to line their own pockets and leave the crumbs for Joe B. Logg. And yet still they vote, election after election, never trying for change, just stumbling blindly onwards and hoping against the wind for some new Kier Hardie to come along.

Of course they aren't paid to serve themselves; they never were. But they are above reproach; even during the first days of the Expenses Scandal several MP's arrogantly tried to claim they were above the law, and so became sacraficial lambs for the rest of the corrupt congregation to take Communion of. The only reason they bother to even keep the country going instead of shoulder-barging for the cookie jar of cash is because that would impact their dreamy idealistic lifestyles, something they hate more than the proletariat.

I hope you do change the country, and wish you luck; but at the moment I feel as though you have as much chance of making things better as I do of going to the Moon. Not because of you, but because of the 400 years of tradition, law, beaurocracy and greed surrounding the job.
Yo man no sense in being Cynical :D

Trust me determination is everything. Prime Example: Abraham Lincoln
If anything Politics are a passion of mine as well.....mainly so I can abuse every bit of power I can..Hehehehe. Oh well if anything I applaud those who would pursue the world of Politics with an unbreakable integrity. Reminds me of Mr. Smith goes to Washington.

Its madness, but Lulz worthy. Who wants to be our guinea pig in this endeavor?

Alternatively we could link one of the 4chan boards to this thread, as long as it is not /b/.

The only way to be remembered is either to kill a lot of people, become president of the US, make a massive faux pas of epic proportions or to find the cure for cancer.

I doubt I'll ever have more recognition than my avatar has on this forum. Thanks for that, now I'm all depressed in time for Christmas. :3

Who's to say if I will be remembered by anyone or not? I've helped a couple thousand Japanese kids take their first steps in speaking English by now. If I've inspired some of them enough to build it up and eventually do something great with that knowledge, like become a Japanese diplomat to an English-speaking country and help broker some peace deal preventing a war, well, great. I will have indirectly played a part in preventing that war. That's something great. But that doesn't mean I will be remembered, if that person doesn't really remember me as an inspiration to learn English at that point. On the other hand, if that same kid simply becomes a tour guide for English-speaking tourists, or a Japanese English teacher at some small local school, but remembers me fondly as an inspiration in their chosen career path, I will then be remembered more than if I had played a part in preventing a war. So for the great majority of us, including myself, who have an extremely slim chance at best of being remembered by name 10 years past our death for anything we've done, we should simply do our best with what we have to contribute to history in our own way. History is a vast subject full of big stories and small, and even if we are only remembered in the small stories rather than the big ones, we are still remembered. It's really up to each of us to make the memories people will have of us in the future. If we don't put any effort into making those memories, we probably won't be remembered even in the smallest stories in history.

Not by society as a whole, unless I achieve something miraculous in my life. It's something I'd like to do, but not something I'm specifically proactive about. But by my family, my loved ones? I hope so, and that's really all that matters to me.

And look what good that got him; a bullet in the head. Same with JFK. Almost the same with Reagan.

Practically every good politician who does resist the temptation is left jobless or worse when his noble intentions are uncovered. Victims of smears, blackmail, or just outright bullying by their superiors. And so nothing ever changes.

Correction; it does change something. It inspires others even if a select few, to do the right thing and do what they can to continually fight the political machine....seriously man you got ME saying such inspirational things. you must be really negative about this O__O

I mean I may not be one to keep the integrity considering I know how to work through the the system, but that shouldn't stop others from wanting to do what's right.
