Will you ever stop playing games?

Sometimes you get these weird mood swings that make you want to join Greenpeace or just lie down and die.

Today is a day like this, plenty of games out there, excess for the first time in months, but I was playing Borderlands and realised that during one of my online excursions, the game unlocked every single future quest, probably due to a high level character. There's no sense of suspense as I just grind through it.

On top of that, most games are just 'samey' now, no ICO or revolutionary Katamari in this season, just FPS's, RPG's, RPG FPS's etc.

Or maybe we'll have to look forward, what's the next big saviour of videogames next year?

Bar my weekly visits to my friends house where we take turns getting battered in MW2, I haven't played a video game in over a month. But no, I don't think I'll ever cut the habit completely.

Nope, never. I love spending my days on games, and won't have it any other way.

Everyone will stop gaming at some point because everyone will die. That's a stupid question.

Yes I can still see myself playing games for the rest of my life, but then again I may not, perhaps something happens that prevents me from playing them ever again. For example if I had a kid, that would take at least 95% of my gaming time away.

Yes, you would game less the first few years, but think about the fun you would have training him/her to be an elitist gamer.

I have already slowed down quite a bit. With a wife, two kids and a job it makes it very hard to be able to play like I used to when I had no responsibilities, and I can tell that I don't have the skills or patience I once had. I tried playing MW2 multiplayer, and was just getting killed by the new generation of gamers. I'm happy I was there for the early days of gaming, and was able to own a Nintendo and SNES and Saturn and all that, but at 25, I have much more important things to be focusing on. I'm sure I will stop completely eventually, especially when the kids are a bit older. Besides, I was never of the mindset that I would play for the rest of my life.

I realize I'm not ancient, but sometimes I feel like an old man left in the dust while the gaming world just keep on rollin'.

My social life should always come first, my own judgement anyway. So yeah eventually I will have to grow up and when that happens I may need to leave a lot of my nerdiness behind and accept the ravages of age.

As long as there are platforms to jump, goons to beat up and quests to complete, I'll keep playing.

I hope not as i do truly love gaming, but seeing as how i am extremely busy now so get less time then i would like to play video games, who knows? I can only get busier but i like to think at the very least i will still occasionally find the time to play when i'm older and will never truly stop.

eh, I've failed in any attempt to stop gaming so far... but then again, anything can happen.

I was born with a controller in my hands, and god damn it I'm gonna die with one in my hands.
