Should I take water with me on my run?
I can only speak for myself but that depends on the distance I am running and the weather conditions. Anything above a 10 km run, I'll wear a CamelBak. If it's kind of hot and sticky outside, I'll wear it then too (even if I'm only doing 7 km or something).

I find that it all depends on the person. I know plenty of fit guys who sweat profusely during workouts even if they've only been on the bike for 30 mins. It's really dependent on your physiology in this case. The best thing you can do is try it out and see how it works out for you.

One thing i need to know is how much do you exercise now and where do you work?

Edit: also If you're an engineer I can help you as best i can. Obviously not the same weay the military expects you but I've been through two years of community college which does very general stuff so I can help there as well.
Missed these bits.

Right now I do 10-15 min of weights, 30 min on an exercise bike, and finish with a 2 mile run(morning workout). And in the afternoon I do another hour on the bike and a bit of walking(short walks while on errands and walking my dog).

Currently I work so little I might as well be unemployed, but I'm looking for more stable work.

I'll PM you when I get a date to take the ASVAB test. Not going to lie, It'll take me awhile(months, my weight loss has slowed way down) to get to the point where my recruiter will let me take the test(he wants me to be in shape before he will start the process).

edit: Morning workout 3-4 times a week. Afternoon workout: 6 times a week.

You need to do more weight lifting. Averaging around an hour would be good. This depends on what you do though.

Make sure you heart rate while on the exercise bike is somewhere between 50-70% of your max heart rate but also more than your resting heart rate by a bit. That is the threshold for doing an average jog.

Just to give you something else to compare to record your resting heart rate occasionally. As you get in better shape from the cardio it should decrease.

Nike.
Just do it.

That's at least all I need to keep on powering through whatever it is I need willpower for.
