Whatever, just wash your hands.
I'll advise you to use the program ShutUp 10++ so that you can see (and shut off, if desired) all of the myriad ways Windows 11 collects your data. In my mind, it's especially valuable for letting you shut off that stupid Recall function they recently introduced.
That's one of the things that winareo tweaker does too.

Also check to make sure W11 doesn't try to turn off your wifi to conserve energy, it took me forever to figure out why my wifi would just randomly turn off all the time.

I've got a hardline for our desktops. Our laptops aren't new enough to be able to upgrade without jumping through hoops. Might just throw linux on them or something.

That's what I ended up doing and I haven't looked back since.

Luckily I don't game on my laptop, so I don't have to worry about certain games' kernel level anti-cheat not working on my laptop.

We did experimentation to see if linux was was viable for desktops and found there was enough of that to be annoying.

I'm staying on 10, can't stand Win11 on my work laptop. Not getting security updates isn't nearly as big as issue as everyone makes it out to be (for personal use). I'm running like a 5 year old version of Win10 as is. One of the feature updates for Win 10 years ago made it worse so i stopped updating at that point

I’m jumping over to Mint Linux personally. Even if shit like Windows Recall wasn’t pants on head stupid for non-corporate devices - if not outright dangerous - I’ve been using it at work and the OS is just a pig. It’s clunky, slow and shit has been moved around presumably at the behest of some arsehole looking to justify his existence. And, per my previous bitchfest, I can’t move my taskbar to a vertical position and for some reason that just fucking irks me on a massive level.

It being slow or even clunky hasn't been my experience. Then again I am using a powerful machine and most work machines are kinda on the low power side. I'm not sure it installed recall, or one of the things I did in winareotweaker removed it cause I don't see it on the machine at all.

Hmm. On the other hand, Win12 may prevent e-waste by making people switch to Linux.

Given that the overwhelming majority of computer users are on laptops or tablets, I cannot imagine these users tolerating not only having to pay for a device, but a subscription as well. Paying for a Windows license separately was a completely foreign and very unwelcome concept when I got a desktop PC back in high school.

I think it is more likely people will be forced to fork over more money for Macbooks or higher end tablets than switch to Linux devices. When I was still with my previous company, there was a big push to move from Lenovo ThinkPads to Macbooks because the latter was surprisingly more cost effective.

Yeah, this is definitely the right time to expect people to run out and build or buy a whole new system just to support Microslop's AI garbage.
