Im thinking of getting a Win 7 phone (not yet sure what handset.) Just wanting to know who has one and what you think of Win7 as an OS?

I am not a fan. Other than it not being good, I am not a fan of Microsoft either.
Android as stated is the good one.

I've seen Windows on handhelds before. Not a pretty sight. I'm using Maemo on my phone now (Nokia N900) and I'm real happy with it. And I've heard a lot of good stuff about Android, so one of them =)

Thanks for the feedback (I realise most people here prefer Android and Im not ruling it out) but anyone who actually has a win 7 based phone got anything to say about it?

I would recommend a Windows Phone 7 if you work in a company that is big on multi-device collaboration. Of course I would then request that the company pays for the phone. Or if you really want integration with your many other Microsoft devices and products.

Much like with anything from windows, Its never really the best idea to be an early adopter.

I do feel confident when they get a second or third generation under their belt, they will be impressive, but before then, your basically doing free beta testing for M$

The golden rule for owning a smartphone is: Avoid anything made by Apple or Microsoft and go straight for an Android.

Always, always go for Android. You will not be disappointed but the insane levels of customisability, smoothness of operation, responsiveness and, of course, the app store to rival Apple's.

I sound like a sales rep..

*Clears throat*

Android: It just makes sense.

I can't actually comment on it because I haven't used a Windows phone. However if you decide against a Windows phone then I still maintain that the only phone worth getting is an iPhone or a Blackberry.
