Windows 7 the new microsoft PC operating system. It's expensive and new, microsoft claims its and incredible leap forward but i'm not so sure. Judging by what I have seen its just graphics upgrade and a few new things to orgnise things quicker.

Whats your opinion?

I love it. I never used vista and just stuck with XP all those years. However I heard all the good reviews for 7 and decided it was finally time to upgrade. My system boots up a lot faster and there are a lot of neat little things that you find as you use it. Plus I got it for 30 bucks so you can't beat that price! But ya, windows 7 kicks ass. It still has some bugs but nothing major and nothing that probably won't be fixed in the next month or two. GET IT!

I'm happy with my Vista.

From what I've seen of it (not a lot), I don't really see much difference.
So am I. The only problem is that its needs memory space like a pig.

11 GB for WoW? WTF?
Meh, I have a 200GB harddrive.

Err... OS's don't affect how much space is required for a game.

If you were eligible for a free upgrade, I recommend it 100%

It surprisingly doesn't take me an hour to move 5 GBs from one folder to the next.
Nor does it eat all my memory <.<

I'm fairly happy with Windows 7. In my opinion there is a marked improvement than vista, but i don't think anything can beat windows xp.

Then why do most Games for PC say: System Requirments: 5GB for XP 7GB for Vista?

That's WaW in case your curious.

I'm confused by all these problems people are having with Vista.
I have never experienced any.

Same same...Yeah, plus it can be rather heavy on the RAM. I got 4GB but with a game and another program open it slugs like a *****.

IDK, I don't really like the new layout, only thing I'm worried about it old programs, as many didn't work with vista (hard to patch old games, so sadly I couldn't play Baldur's Gate) so I'm wondering if there work for 7 or not. (Shame nothing works on this comp, unless I do a crap load of editing the settings.)

I never had any real problems with Vista either.

The memory thing didn't really bother me because I had a 500GB HDD.

Moving memory was an annoyance, but I didn't care that much either, so I know what you mean.

Windows 7 just feels..more polished, if I were to put it into words.

I've been using the RC for several months now, and I think it's great.
I don't think it's a revolution, more like everything that vista was supposed to be.

(only faster and more pretty)

That's WaW in case your curious.
Crysis: 12 GB either system
Mirror's Edge: 8 GB either system
Mass Effect: 15GB either system
CoD 4: 8GB either system
Crysis: Warhead: 14GB either system
Orange Box: 20GB either system

And then many, many etc.'s.

You're either getting Hard Drive space mixed up with RAM (RAM = memory, Hard Drive space doesn't) or processor speeds which can differ slightly between each OS. Haven't got a clue where you got the 5GB for XP and 7GB for Vista though.

RAM and Processor requirements are higher though for Vista because the OS itself requires more power than XP, therefore the minimum requirements need to be pushed up to compensate.

HDD space required doesn't change from OS to OS, as the amount of space needed is pre-determined on the disc the game's on, not what's in your computer.

I like it a lot. Much better than Vista or XP.

Also, space on HDD doesn't bother me neither. Two HDDs, one disk 16 GB for Windows XP (for emergency situations), 216 GB for Windows 7 and another HDD is 465 GB for games, movies and images.
