Recently I got "Fallout 3 GOTY", but it can't save or load offline, so I'm kind of screwed. I can't really use any mods that need it disabled to get around anti-cheating boundaries, which is weird since it's a single player game. Does anyone have any workarounds? I can disable windows live, but I need it to save and load.

It's kind of a pain in the ass, but you can still play the game offline.

What you need to do is to make a new GFWL account, but you need to make this account an OFFLINE account. I'm honestly not sure how to do that, but I know it can be done.

There are certainly ways to achieve that. I know it used to work fine before I bought the game on Steam. Obviously, I can't link though, lest the mods' wrath bear down on me like swift justice....

It's called Real Time Settler Mod, because it conflicts with windows live it turns it off and uses a different loader, but because it doesn't use Live I can't save. I've tried console commands to no avail, searched around for a couple hours. Dead ends.

Edit: Made an offline account, doesn't have savefiles. They're grayed out.

Hmm, I would suggest just surfing the Fallout3Nexus for a while to try to find some help on it. They'll probably be of more use than anyone.

Found a windows live disabler, but then I can't save. I'll lurk check Nexus a bit more though.
