That's just awesome. With all of the emphasis on realism today, we really do need a sandbox game where you just fly around a universe in a space ship, exploring the cosmos or just shooting pirates.

It will be interesting to see if he still has the touch after all these years.

Odd article... and then he killed it with the sequels? Wing Commander III was the big success story in terms of sales.
And Roberts didn't have that much invovlement with Freelancer IIRC - wasn't that mostly his brother Erin? In any case Chris Roberts certainly wasn't with the company at the end of the project... and Freelancer was ALSO well regarded.

Very much looking forward to this, whatever it is.

Chris Robert's new Space Game >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Obsidian's new generic RPG

Please Chris, make the greatest space exploration/combat sim and watch those COD kiddies salivating over your awesome original ideas. I still religiously play Freelancer and constantly surprised that no one thinks dog-fighting in spaceships with lasers is fun.

It also happens to be my favorite game of all time ever, and I used to make ships/run the Outcast faction for the Discovery mod. If Chris Roberts makes a Freelancer sequel I will die of happiness.
I would too, but if by some chance he worked with the Freelancer Discovery team and community, to create a Freelancer sequel keeping to the events of Discovery I would crymax ON ALL THE THINGS!

Man I love Freelancer, if he just did a reboot of the game and finished it he intended back in the day, I'd buy that shit!

I would like to note that any credible computer geek can get the answer before guessing. 101010 in binary is 42 in decimal. The Hitchhiker's reference is for the other types of geek. :)

I cannot wait for this game! Already funded! Now they need to release more content so I can get my fan site up and running http://forums.starcitizenbase.com/
