Ok, so I have a wireless desktop. (bad, I know, but my parent's don't want me to run a wire through the entire house). Anyways, I'm connected to the net and I'm wondering: Is 39.0Mbps to 65Mbps fast enough for gaming? Sometimes I get 52, or 58.5Mbps.

EDIT: I don't get the 65Mbps much, it usually is 52 or 39, sometimes staying at 58.5 for a while
EDIT 2: I usually play games like TF2, and L4D.

I guess I'll give it a bit before pulling the "report and move on" move.

Edit: If you have the option stick to a wired connection...always. It's just more stable and reliable.

Is there even any difference between wired and wireless speeds? Though I find wired to be a bit more stable.

Well, I usually run at about 10 Kb/s (I wish I was kidding), and it isn't all that bad. So you should be fine.

Do you play online games, though?
And are you hard-wired?
Anyways, where the hell are you? 10Kb/s?!

It depends on a lot of things. Mostly it depends on how popular the game is and how bad their servers are at handling mass loads.

Best way to be to trial and error based on whatever game you are playing. If its Wow then its highly dependant on server populations. Some servers run brilliantly because they have a low enough population. Others are packed so tighted you get super lag in cites. (although in dalaran you get that on every server).

I think it's fine I bought a 60 dollar wireless router and I can play on my ps3 online and surf the web with my laptop at the same time with no lag at all.

X-Box LIVE.
I think so.
I'm technically 1100 feet from our ISP service boundary, and they say that's the problem. But someone I know lives 3 blocks from the main building and gets 16 Kb/s.
There is literally no other ISP that reaches to Middle-Of-Nowhere, Alabama.

I've never had any problems playing games over a wireless connection, and if I did, it was my internet connection, not my local network.
