I recently set up a home theater pc with all the trimmings and I would like to try some gaming on it.

My problem is that my chosen keyboard [link]http://www.amazon.com/2-4GHz-Wireless-Keyboard-Touchpad-Center/dp/B002UNFVK4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1267459215&sr=8-2[/link] is on the cheap side, and is good enough for media center uses but drops too many key inputs to be useful in a gaming setup.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a wireless keyboard and mouse combo that has a rock solid connection and will operate as well as a wired set at ~10 feet?

Wow... Your keyboard looks scary 0.o , I advise you look into the Logitech make, they're quite cheap and really good quality.

This one looks very good, I don't know if you want a proper gaming mouse but if not then tis looks perfect. If you don't like it click on the sellers name and look through others ;)

(NOTE: The link show a mouse that only works on Microsoft Windows Vista / XP)

Hope this helps =D

I recommend Logitech keyboards. They are probably the best for wireless keyboards. For wired stuff I usually side with razor.

This keyboard was awesome while it worked, because the mouse was built in:
http://www.amazon.com/Adesso-Wireless-Keyboard-Optical-Trackball/dp/B000JJM7S0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1267462689&sr=1-2-spell
It made for an excellent gaming keyboard. But I think we got a faulty one, as the mouse went out after a couple of months. A lot of the reviews seem to like it. Really, the design is the best thing going for it, as it sits really nicely in your hands. I have to pick up another one sometime, and yes, even though it broke. I like trackball mice, and there are very few wireless trackball mice out there.

For non gaming stuff, this one is really nice as a kind of computer remote. I use it for hulu and other related web surfing.

The bonus with that one, is it is bluetooth, so it works with your PS3 as well, as a keyboard. It is quite small so for remote purposes, it is great.

Thanks for the tips. I initially wanted to get a dinovo mini as the media center controller for the look, not for gaming, but it got really mediocre reviews and a lot of people said it felt cheap for something that was so expensive.

This is the second recommendation I got for adesso so I might just check that out.

Recommendation:
bluetooth keyboard & mouse.
My computer is in a vented av cabinet connected to 50" LCD.
Distance and Line-of-Sight issue.
*GHz stuff didn't work.
Bluetooth is the way to go.
BT dongle provides 7 channels:
-also links with the cell phone
-and audio
-and whatever else.

I wouldn't suggest a logitech wireless keyboard. I had one once and it drained batteries like no tomorrow, on top of that it was prone to dieing without warning in hte middle of whatever I Was doing. The mouse did the same bloody thing.
That's VERY wierd, My batteries last around 150 hours on my logitech...and it warns me...

I won't lie, that Dinovo is overpriced. But I got it for the double use. I didn't have a keyboard for my PS3, and I do occasionally get messages there. It would be much better if they dropped the price on it. I'm actually a little surprised they haven't yet.
