Hiya advisors.

I have an A4tech G6saver optical wireless mouse. It's been working fine for the year that I've had it, but now it's starting to act up. The mouse cursor will flicker erratically across the screen, and sometimes it will click things I never intended to click. Having the mouse press the back-button on its own accord while I'm trying to watch a video isn't very fun.
This problem does not occur if I just use the touchpad.

So, do any of you happen to know what the problem might be, and how to fix it if at all possible?

See if any of this helps: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321122

It may be something as simple as needing to change the batteries.

I have tried changing the batteries already.

I tried to run a diagnostics check right now (the thing you linked me to), but it didn't find anything.
The site tells me to download some "intellipoint" software, but I'm a bit sceptical since my mouse isn't a Microsoft product. Will the mousinfo tool work at all?

I honestly wouldn't know; I don't use a wireless mouse. That was just the first thing I found.
