I pulled out four teeth(tooths?) when I got my bracets, so hopefully I'll have enough room. Currently only three of them are about halfway out while one is still in hiding. No complications apart from occasional pain.

On my lower jaw they are going up in the right angle, but the wisdom tooth on my upper jaw feels weird. It's just a long piece of bone sticking out... like half the tooth is missing.

I've got two in the top of my mouth. Both have grown in, neither has given me any problems outside of their comparative difficulty to keep clean.

Ouch! That looks painful o_O

My wisdom teeth started to grow out about half a year ago. It caught me by surprise, I mean, it's been a good decade since anything major happened that related to my teeth. And even then, I thought you got them way before your 20s.

So thankful i'll never have to go through that. All 4 came in straight, no pain, enough room to be comfortable and give them at least a half-ass scrubbing. I'd say I have pretty shitty genetics, ugly and bad posture BUT my teeth are apparently "perfect" according to my dentist so I take very good care of them.

Also, the thought of a dentist cutting shit in my mouth while i'm knocked out... I shudder at the thought. Sucks to be you all not in my situation :p

I still have all 4 of mine. And yes, the pain does flare-up every once in a while.
I'm too scared to get anything done about them though. I hate the dentist.
OK, bad idea. If they hurt, get them checked at once. If it gets inflamed that can cause some serious issues, even heart problems. It's better to get them pulled than not.

OT: 3 of my friends are currently having issues with their wisdom teeth. I on the other hand is one of those lucky few who hasn't had any problems despite that they're all out. Yeah, people tend to hate me for that.

Yeah well very few are as lucky as you :p
I'm soon getting all four of mine taken out, they aren't bothering me but just having them actually increases chances down the line for problems though. Better to just get it over with, plus one of my bottoms ones will definitely give me trouble before long. My issue is that I do not like not having control of my body, so I'm going to have issues being put out for the surgery.

I have one at the moment and it is KILLING ME!!!!
I wish you the best of luck with that. Hopefully you can get it out soon and without complication.

I just had all four of mine taken out two weeks ago. They first told me I'd need them taken out back in 2001, then they told me I needed to have them taken out ASAP back in 2008. By 2012, three of the four wisdom teeth had erupted from the gums - one of which had cracked and broken in half due to there not being enough room for it, resulting in an infection. The fourth tooth was impacted, and very close to causing serious damage to my lower teeth. I ended up finally getting around to having them taken out because my whole face was throbbing with pain 24/7, I could barely speak without slurring my words, and eating was a very special brand of painful.

Getting them taken out was some of the best money I've ever spent. Operation only took about an hour, they put me under so I didn't feel anything. Very little bleeding, almost no swelling, very little pain.

My jaw got room for them all. None pulled here.

Looks painful though, I know several people who have had too pull them because they grow angled and all wrong.

I had mine removed about a month ago, all four at once. There weren't any complications though. My dentise spent about 20 minutes sticking a needle all over my mouth making sure I was frozen EVERYWHERE. Then he spent about 5-10 minutes actually removing the teeth, two of which weren't even surfaced yet. Only took him about a minute to a minute and a half to remove each tooth. When the assistant said "Okay, all done!" I was like "... Already?"

The worst part comes after the surgery because you have these big holes in your mouth and it makes it difficult to eat (you pretty much gotta stick to liquids for the first day or so) and brush your teeth. If you use a straw or smoke for the first week, you can get dry socket which is REALLY painful (thankfully that didn't happen for me).

A month later and I still got the holes in my mouth, but they're almost healed, and food isn't getting stuck in there as often (and trust me, getting food stuck in there sucks. I once had a piece of lettuce stuck for like, a day).

Mine were just like that. Fortunately, I was able to have them removed without a problem. The painkillers made me vomit a lot afterward, but otherwise everything worked great.

I just wonder who is the idiot who came with the name? Wisdom teeth? Really?
Especially in your case. That tooth is obviously retarded and reminds me of the 4 owls with the retarded looking one.

All 4 of mine are barely out and stopped growing. Dentist says that it's nothing special, but I should be careful. Because I can't clean them good, there is a chance of infection, but it's still better to wait than to pull them out as they are.

Oh well, at least we know it's not intelligent design. ^^

Hah two years ago I had to take my friend to the dentist to get his wisdom teeth removed. When we got back we were chilling in his apartment and he lit up a cigarette and took one drag and started screaming from the pain. I had a good laugh at his expense lol

I have all four, they all came in straight without any problems (other than occasionally biting off a piece of my cheek; I never had braces either. My family had good teeth our flaw is very common schizophrenia (we're at 1/4 males)

My friend James has zero wisdom teeth, he didn't have them removed they just were never there, Lucky Canadian Bastard.

My buddy Travis had to get all 4 of his removed, he said the Vicodin made everything OK.

Well it proves that if there is a god, he is an angry god!

Yeah, wisdom teeth are shit.
At some point, it seems, they just decided that it was time to start growing sideways and getting stuck and making cysts and just generally trying to kill us. The fuck is up with that?

Because no intelligent designer would have let this happen. Did I mention the SEVERE RAVENOUS PAIN?!?!?!
Cool story brah, my Wisdom Teeth came through fine so now I have extra chewing power and no need for painful surgery.

If this is anything to do with evolution, then it must be natural selection trying to weed out the weaker specimens, impacted wisdom teeth can be fatal you know.

I'm fortunate that I've never had any issues with my wisdom teeth, despite having all four of them come through, and I've not had any of them pulled.

I got mine taken out back in high school and don't remember much about it. I guess I'm fortunate. Most of the people I know have horror stories about The Wisdom Tooth Experience.

As far as the evolution vs. intelligent design thing, well, it's possible wisdom teeth were invented as is by an intelligent designer. He's intelligent, and sadistic.

My wisdom teeth came in fine, but my upper right k9 decided it was better than the rest of my teeth and grew out above the rest...literally on top, above, and in front of the rest. Luckily the dentist fixed that.

I've never had a problem! =p So I feel quite lucky. I only have 3 as well, I didn't have one taken out, I just never developed one. My grandmother never had ANY wisdom teeth grow at all, so I assume I must have inherited this mutation in some form.

I feel your friend's pain though, teeth related problems hurt like a *****.
