Heya guys. My wisdom tooth is coming through, but there's a slight problem. My gum is partially covering the tooth and it hurts like hell. It kept me up most of last night, I woke this morning and my face was swollon. It hurt so much this morning I couldn't eat breakfast.

Speaking to some friends, they recommended different things. So far today I have taken Ibuprofen, put a paracetamol next to the tooth and dapped it with Clove Oil. The pain has subsided for now, but obviously this is a temporary solution.

Are there any ways I can remove or push the gum back without causing myself serious injury? I was thinking of using a stanely knife, but I think that would be too messy.

I'm 22 and I haven't had a dentist since I was 14.

Cheers guys.

Pro tip: See a dentist, quick. I got my 4 wisdom teeth removed in one surgery, recovered in a day, never had any real pain that a Dafalgan couldn't fix.

Oh god. Go have a dentist instead of trying to heal thyself. It isn't that scary, especially if you know good dentists.

And if you keep on with self-healing,you may make things much, much worse. Like infecting your gum.

Obvious fix is obvious. In that amount of time, anything could have happened, your teeth could be in the wrong places for all you know.

Um... Go to the dentist? You're going to have to get the tooth removed sooner or later. If it hurts so bad, the wisdom tooth is probably pushing on the root of the molar ahead of it.

Dentist is the only way forward.

Everything else just pushes up the bill once you give in and finaly get it done.

wow 8 years without going to the dentist.
I got those teeth when I was like 13 or something, they used to hurt, but when they are fully grown it's no problem.

Agreeing with the posts above, see a dentist. Plus getting your wisdom teeth out isn't that bad. You get knocked out while on laughing gas, and you get pain killers for after.
If you don't get them out, bad things could happen. They could disalign your teeth more, your gums might get infected, and some other stuff that the anesthetic knocked out of my head. Just don't remove them by yourself! That is just about the worst decision in the books right now.

I started getting mine in around the time I was 19, one on the top left came out and tore a hole in my cheek making it difficult to eat for over a month. Got another on my right side that has been trying to break loose for about 3 years now but hasn't really made any progress other than just breaking out of gum slightly.

If you're poor like me, then you'll probably ignore it. I still haven't had either of mine removed and haven't really had any problems after that initial month of pain.

Yeah, you need a dentist.

I mean, you get another point on your man card for contemplating the stanley knife, but that'll just make things worse.

Strange, many people have problems with those teeth.
I'm 16, and I didn't have any trouble with them.
And the answer is obvious: go see a dentist.

For the love of God man see a dentist.

Where do you think ya live? Great Britain?
I do live in Great Britain. Wales to be exact. My teeth aren't perfect, I had braces to try and sort them out, then they took away my braces and it changed pretty much nothing about my teeth. I have no idea why they took my braces away.

Anywho, I moved from London to Cardiff and since being in Cardiff never got around to registering with a dentist, plus you have to pay, which sucks seemin I earn less than 10k a year.

See a dentist... now. You need a professional to remove your teeth or they will hurt like hell/cause you to injure yourself.

A stanley knife 0-O. Shouldn't you just go to a dentist, about this problem. I mean we are a game forum for god's sake, what would we know about teeth? Unless of course someone has dental experience.

Also you should go as quickly as possible.
