After something like 80 hours spent in Maxis' latest city building experience (and it's been a lot of fun so far!), there are many things I feel are missing. I thought I'd make a thread here to discuss the things we as players would like to see added to Sim City in order to improve the game!

To get the obvious ones out of the way early:

Official Offline Mode: There is a way to mod this now, but this should very much be an official feature, a simple toggle when you start up the game or something along those lines. There is no reason (and now we have conclusive evidence of that) for an always online system, so away with it please!

Bigger Maps: I think every Sim City player will agree that bigger maps are needed, much bigger... Things felt small from the beginning, but I guess this image [http://i.imgur.com/pxxSsS0.png] really hammered the point home for me. Sim City feels far too compact and limiting, and I am surely not the only one that dreamed of building a city for millions only to learn how much work and careful planning has to go into a city of only 300,000. It seems like this has already been promised in a way, but you never know with EA...

Now for my more personal list of things I'd like to see added to Sim City. Considering the importance of roads and transportation in this game, most of my hopes and dreams concern those:

Highways: Roads in Sim City fill up very, very quickly. The primary reason for this is that all the traffic comes to a complete halt at the many intersections you are forced to build around the city, and usually within 1-3 hours of starting my city the roads might as well look like this [http://vipdictionary.com/img/highway_knot_01.jpg] in terms of how effective they are... Even with the recent updates, the sims are not the smartest drivers in the world and enjoy taking the shortest route to their destination, even if it means standing in ques for hours! Some high-capacity highways with smooth on- and off-ramps would be a great benefit to any city, especially when (hopefully) the bigger city maps show up.

Land Bridges: Please? I want to be able to build bridges that cross over roads and railways, not just water! It is so infuriating to have trains lock down all road-based traffic when they try to crawl their way into town to pick up passangers at the station. Even better, allow us to build under-ground tunnels for trains and roads, or maybe even allow us to build roads that have an elevated railroad above it, like you see in many modern cities!

Roundabouts: Road structures that are bigger and more expensive than normal intersections, but allow for far better traffic flow! Would even solve many of the problems I want highways to solve, but I'd prefer to have both, especially for when bigger cities do show up and my sims will need to travel greater distances within the city.

HazMat Trucks: My problem with these are that it takes quite a lot of dedication to unlock them, and to successfully run a university you pretty much need to base your entire town around it! I think that a big fire station should be enough, they are pretty expensive as it is. It's such a hassle right now, that I generally just let these fires burn out because I don't have the resources required to get even a single HazMat truck going, nobody in my region do...

So thats my wishes for the future of Sim City! Please share your personal wish lists, and feel free to discuss my suggestions and Sim City in general =3.
