Witch Hunt: The "Dramatic Conclusion" to Dragon Age: Origins

Gird your loins for the return of Morrigan in Witch Hunt, the new DLC and "dramatic conclusion" to the story of Dragon Age: Origins [http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Age-Origins-Pc/dp/B001IK1BWC/ref=sr_1_2?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1282757783&sr=1-2].

[For those who haven't yet played Dragon Age: Origins, spoilers are contained herein. Consider yourself warned.]

The most interesting twist in Dragon Age, in my ever-so-humble opinion, came very near the end of the game, when Morrigan finally made her play. Although a bit rough around the edges, it was a genuinely surprising turn of events that finally gave players a meaningful decision to make. This wasn't just a matter of choosing one generic dwarf prince over another; this was... well, we never really knew what it was. Until now.

Witch Hunt, the new expansion for Dragon Age: Origins, takes place almost a full year after the death of the Archdemon. After disappearing into the mountains on the eve of the climactic battle, Morrigan has been spotted in the southern wilds of Ferelden. Finally, the time to confront her, and the dark secret she carries within, is at hand. Players will be able to import existing characters from either Dragon Age: Origins or Awakening [http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Age-Origins-Awakening-Pc/dp/B003336KG4/ref=sr_1_4?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1282757783&sr=1-4] into the new DLC or jump in with an all-new, high-level Warden to earn "powerful rewards" that can be used elsewhere in both Origins and Awakening.

I'm not much of a Dragon Age fan but this sounds like an expansion I'll have to pick up. The chance to finish things with Morrigan, one way or another, in a "dramatic conclusion to the Origins storyline," isn't something I want to miss. Mass Effect 2 [http://dragonage.bioware.com/dao/witch_hunt/]; things must be busy at BioWare) for the PC (560 BioWare Points), Xbox 360 (560 Microsoft Points) and PlayStation 3 ($6.99).

Oh good. I chose the option where... *spoiler warning right here just in case* you impregnate Morrigan to save everyone then I chose to chase after her. I'm looking forward to this DLC!

Sounds good to me. I was going to spend my points on Scott Pilgrim and Limbo. I probably still will, but need to pick up fresh BioWare DLC soon too.

My poor bank balance.

I thought I was done with Dragon age, but thank god they brought this back. I was talking with someone a while ago about how they had better close this up, and not in the sequel, because really I think this was what most players wanted. Everybody wanted to know what happened to Morrigan, at least anybody who romanced her did.

This is the only piece of DLC I will be picking up... And Im really happy I get to finish DA:O this way.

Damn it Bioware, you have to release those both on the same day? Now I don't know which to play first! Because I'm totally buying both those DLC packs, no question about it - the prospect of eliminating cliffhangers and unanswered plot threads is just too tempting!

I*'m save my money and just find out what happens on the 'net for two reasons.

1. The cheaper Bioware DLC is usually crap-tastic.

2. I lost my save file for DA:O, and only have my brand new Awakening warden.

Im quite surprised how BioWare, after the tragic situation with first Mass Effect, picked up the pace with DA:O/A and ME2 for DLCs. Guess they matured enough to actually release them relatively often giving me reasons to return to the game every few months. It's also heart warming in the perspective of TOR, since at the beginning i was afraid they would slack with content updates, but now i can see it working.

A full year aferwards? So she'll have given birth by then, interesting...

Does anyone wanna have a bet with me that she'll call the baby Hawke?

Hmmm.. this will probably be the one piece of DA:O DLC that I will actually buy. At the end of DA:O my Dalish Elf did renounce the Wardens and promise to find his love, Morrigan, after all.

Interesting. I wonder how this will go if you declined her offer. She wasn't too thrilled with me when I did that...

Great, now my Female elf can make sure that Alistair's survival didn't condemn the known world to death.

Am I the only one who's been overwhelmed by melancholy with this announcement? It'll be over... Our last adventure with the Warden... The finale of Dragon Age...

...God, it's... Sad.

I'll take that bet and say she doesn't, then again I know that Hawke was from Lothering during the Darkspawn invasion and has nothing to do with Morrigian's baby so far. So I'd almost feel bad taking your money ;)

On topic, I am so excited, damn you college and work making it so it'll be a late night to play both this and Lair of the Shadowbroker
