Well CDP had an Xbox 360 Pre-launch conference today to show off The Witcher 2 on the 360 along with some new enhancements they have made. They have been working hard at adding, improving, and fixing things from the original and it looks like one hell of a package. Some of the additions/enhancements they mentioned:

-new camera system
-new targeting system
-4 hours new gameplay
-new locations, and characters
-33 minutes of new cinematic movies
-animations, improved character panel
-and much more + the new CGI.

Lots and lots of extra stuff that comes with the game and not nickel and dimed to you through DLC. PC owners will get all of this stuff FOR FREE in what will inevitably be something like a 3.0 update.

You can watch their conference here. [http://apps.facebook.com/thewitcherlive/]

The biggest news is of course the release date which will be April 17th. Not very far off from now. And given that this is a heavily enhanced version of the game with new content and all that jazz, it's only fitting that there would be an 'Enhanced Edition' that you can buy.

The 360 will get a collectors edition called the "Dark Edition" which has all that nifty stuff like a hard cover art book, sound track, making of DVD, ect...Pricing yet to be confirmed.

Also, awesome intro cinematic/launch trailer: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/exclusive-console-the-witcher/726180

So yea, console players are in for an awesome experience with very little compromises madem and PC players get some more awesome content down the line to boot.

Who's Excited?

Probable day 1 buy for me, and maybe even the CE version of it too. The only question I've got is how much my wallet will have left in it after the beating it's going to take in March. I actually think releasing the game in May or June may have been a better choice.

Man, if I had a 360 and the cash, I'd have bought the Dark Edition just for the really nice hard cover art book and kick ass Wolf Medallion.

Only reason I never got the collectors edition on the PC was because 120 dollars was just too steep for my liking. If they had a collectors edition sans the head, would have been in my price point.

I?m definitely going to get it, i only played the little bit of the first one on the pc but this one look a lot more streamlined, hopeful it a bit more freindly on the xbox.

Just saying this is not a selling point to me, i mean the more cinematics means it can get less immersive. I do wish games would tell there story through gameplay more often.

I was simply listing what has been added/changed. Whether it's a selling point or not is subjective yes. Most of these cinematics will be no different than that already in the game using the in-game engine no doubt. They do "tell the story through gameplay", it's been like that since vanilla. But some thing just can't be told well enough through game play so sitting back and watching a brief cut scene isn't bad.

This is why I love (and love to support) CDProjekt, the only thing I could ever hold against them was randomly sueing people, but they gave that practice up after the critique.

Anyone wanna bet what EA would have charged for this as "DLC" if it was for one of their games? xD e.g. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.339834-Poll-Are-you-still-getting-Mass-Effect-3
Yea, their support and dedication to their customers is very admirable. I just love everything about these guys, and their sincere effort and dedication shows in their product.

I like how they've went through the game and replaced the cutscenes that were basically "characters standing around in a circle" with fully detailed, motion-captured ones.

It's something nobody had complained about, and yet they did it to get the game in the best shape they possibly can. That's dedication!

Wait, you mean that the talking heads are gone now? That's another bonus! Also, Letho going after the King of Aedirn was awesome in that trailer.

That was a fantastic cinematic, I especially love all the little details such as the arrow wobbling mid-flight. Brilliantly done! I'm really looking forward to replaying the game once this latest patch is released and seeing what's been changed.

I also really hope this game does well on the 360, this developer deserves the attention and I can't help but feel it got snubbed throughout much of the 'award season' by merit of being a PC only game.

You 360 owners are in for a treat. This game was one of the real highlights of 2011 for me. Add me to the list of PC gamers who'll be doing another playthrough.

I'm glad more people will get to experience this game. And it will earn them a lot of money. CD Project Red are great developers, they need more support. I'm very intrigued by 4 additional hours of gameplay. I'm waiting for 3.0 update on PC.

My favorite part is still that part where he uses one of the guards are a meat shield. And the trailer managed to do the whole Zack Snyder slow mo-speed up thing without being annoying and dumb.

It did feel kind of under appreciated by some of the major sites in some categories, but despite all that, they still have garnered over 50 awards/commendations. It definitely deserves commendation for its writing and visuals, which are top notch compared to many other games that came out in 2011.
