CD Projekt Red released the new debut trailer for Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings today - http://www.gametrailers.com/video/exclusive-official-the-witcher/63501

So, what do you think of the new look? Geralt looks a bit smoother and a bit less sheet-white than before, which seems to be sparking the usual sort of arguments. =) The cinematics look gorgeous to me, and what fighting I could see seemed to have the characteristic flow of the last one. Now if I could just get a release date...

Wow, those be some pretty graphics. Hopefully it's just because it's an early build, but the lip synching is horrific. Still, graphics aren't everything, and if it gets a 360 release I might have to watch it.

Once I got used to the combat system, I really loved the way it flowed in the first. Looking forward to this one.

i still say they should've put out a console version of the original. This game is fable but done right.
I've never played Fable, but wasn't that game supposed to be sandbox or something? The Witcher is quite linear for an RPG.
The trailer looks good so far, but any game that sells itself on "maturity" deserves a caution sign. The first one found a good balance, but I'm worried they'll latch onto that as a selling point too hard and overdo it in the sequel.

Witcher 1 was awesome! It was fresh, different, fun and didn't take itself too seriously. A great game that I like to come back to every now and then for another playthrough. Also, CD Projekt gets extra credit for releasing the Enhanced Edition free of charge and fixing the game to the point rarely seen in the industry (they even re-recorded a ton of dialogue that was poorly written/translated). So I'm looking forwad to W2 quite a bit.

However, the game's first trailer was a few months back if I recall...

That one was a leaked thing that they were shopping around to publishers a while back. =) So it was sort of a trailer, but sort of not.

The original Witcher game had so many side quests I can't call it a linear RPG. You could chose to do many things in any order you chose. That's what makes a game non-linear. "Choice". The Witcher Contracts and the NPC requests made it non-linear. Fable was worse in comparison due to a crappy story, repetitive side quests and "Good/Evil" choices as opposed to the "Action-Reaction" path that The Witcher chose.

I loved 1, I just hope they do not butcher out all its RPG elements if it also comes to consoles. and we end up with a shell of the first.

And the trailer for the consoles was just fantastic - I still watch it now and then.
