This looks amazing! I loved the first Witcher and I'm pretty sure I'll love this too. Although I'm a bit worried they'll overdo the stealth, making it more like a chore. Meh, It still looks awesome.
I actually liked the story of the Witcher, but the gameplay just got so very dull after a time and I never did finish it. I have meant to, but it was placed upon my pile of shame and it often takes years to get to. Hell, I just finally played Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines a few weeks ago and that game was put into the pile in 2004. This looks interesting though and I'll almost certainly pick it up.

the witcher was epic, shame if you let the combat turn you off there was a ton there to love.

nm they said they were revamping the combat mechanics for 2. only bit got me worried is they said this game would be much shorter than the first.

Not sure why people keep alluding to the first games game play being rubbish, as it was top notch in my book. The first witcher really was the best RPG I've played in a long while, and had that wow factor that so many games lack these days. The passion and quality of the team that made it absolutely seeped from every pore.

The sequel looks equally as well made, and will hopefully blow my eyeballs out from the back of my head. Huzah!

Great trailer!
I think I'd love to see a game just play out like this trailer did: start off get interrupted and get an other approach to the whole story. It worked in movies, why couldn't it work in a game?

That looked pretty damn good! Seriously, interactive environment, more movement options, proper stealth system, good combat animations...

If they maintain the quality of the story from the first game while improving gameplay, this one will be a winner. Don't get me wrong, gameplay and combat weren't bad in the first game, but the combat was definately the not-so-strong point of the game. If they can overcome that, keep the RPG elements strong, keep the story and characters interesting and make it all come together, this might be one of the best RPGs ever.

I love that each character is pretty sure of their story (I love the Dwarf version, due to the fact that it can go very wrong."

Looks pretty good, I'll admit. Haven't made my mind up. Never played the first Witcher, though. I'm hoping that it's friendly story-wise to newcomers.

Also, how did he break loose in the first place? As far as I can see he just called the guard in and beat the crap out of him. What, he wasn't chained up or anything? Or did they just decide not to show us the part where he actually picks the lock that's holding him there?

Man, Guards in videogames are never clever.

I'm playing Witcher 1 for the first time now, partially due to the announcement of a sequel, partially due to a thirst for more quality western rpgs after having beaten Dragon Age. I have a lengthy list of complaints, but I'll probably get Witcher 2 for the previously mentioned reasons.

*Squeels like a little girl* The Witcher is so sexy! I mean the game. Not Geralt. Damn that looks like fun. And maybe a bit of stealth put in? That would be hella cool.

An Open question for the folks who played the first one: Do you ever get a chance to change that dumbass hair cut?

Hmm new Triss is far less slutty. Dislike! JK ;)

Actually this looks way better than the first! They definitely appear to have a lot more focus on the action. Looks like better combat plus there's stealth and climbing. Visuals are pretty good. I thought the first game was decent but found it a bit lacking so I'll keep my eye on this one.

I hope the combat is more interactive and not point and click based like the first one. I barely played through Witcher because of it's boring combat. The story was cool, the atmosphere was top notch, but the combat, oh please no. This is one RPG that will benefit from console gamepad limitation.

There was a longer segment on this demonstration leaked from TGS a while back, the devs said that earlier in the story he obtains a key for those chains - so he can free himself any time he likes.

While I am a bit annoyed at the parts where they talk about how "amazing" Geralt is, this does seem somewhat promising.

To be honest, I was considering trying out the original Witcher, but I would probably be put off by the sexual content. I just don't like being pandered to.

Nope. That's his trademark haircut, and it's (probably) here to stay.

Well, in The Witcher's universe, Geralt is a very well known and famous person, and since those are his friends telling the story, that kind of praise is to be expected.
